Farmers Only: Welcome back, Billings!

New, comments

Homer Bailey pitches well in another rehab start and the Rookie League returns to Farmers Only!

Louisville Bats 4, Columbus Clippers 2

Homer “Bad name for a pitcher” Bailey made his third, and possibly last, rehab start in this one and went 5.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Jimmy “Drinks to” Herget made his Triple-A debut and struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings and earned the save. Zach “Soft J” Vincej was 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Dilson “Pickles” Herrera was 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI and Beau “F me like an” Amaral was 2 for 4 and scored a run. For a more in-depth recap of this one, look here.

Up Next: Cody Reed gets the start against Columbus today at 12:05 PM ET.

Pensacola was off last night. They host the Southern League All-Star game tonight.

Daytona Tortugas 3, St. Lucie Mets 4

Mark “Stretch” Armstrong got the start for Daytona and wasn’t great. He gave up 3 runs in 3.2 innings on 3 hits with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. All of the damage came on a 3-run dinger, but still, walks will haunt. Chris “Annie are you” Okey raised his season average to .190 by going 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI and Shed “Me” Long “Time” was 1 for 4 with a solo dinger. Brian “Catfish” Hunter pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief and struck out 5 batters.

Up Next: Daytona takes on St. Lucie tonight at 7:05 PM ET. Mark Armstrong is listed as the starter, but I’d imagine that will change.

Dayton was off last night for the Midwest League All-Star break.

Billings Mustangs 5, Missoula Osprey 4

The Billings Mustangs returned to the diamond for the first time in 2017 and started the season off with a walk-off win. Max Wotell got the start and went 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on only 2 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Andy “More like SLUGilio” Sugilio was 3 for 4 with a 2-run dinger. Morgan “Nordstrom” Lofstrom was 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored and Miles “Davis” Gordon was 1 for 3 with a double, a walk, and also scored a run.

Up Next: Jhon De Jesus gets the start tonight against Missoula at 7:05 PM MT.
