MiLB.com

Louisville 5, Charlotte 2

The Bats scored two runs off “Big Game” James “but a 5.46 career postseason ERA” Shields (on a rehab assignment) in five innings, and then played add-on in the eighth and ninth to put away the game. Zach Vincej’s single in the eighth scored Phillip Ervin and Beau Amaral, and then Brandon Dixon hit an RBI-double in ninth. Jesse Winker went 0-for-4 with a walk.

Cody Reed looks to continue his strong outings at AAA as he starts for the Bats tonight at 7:05 ET in Charlotte. He pitched eight innings of shutout ball in Columbus last week.

Pensacola 5, Mississippi 0

Luis “call me up to AAA already” Castillo’s final line: 8 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 13 SO. The 13 strikeouts are a new career high. He has pitched at least five innings in six of his last seven starts, this is the third time his strikeout total reached double digits, and he has not walked more than two batters in a start this season. Eric Jagielo homered in the seventh to put the Blue Wahoos up 5-0 and seal the game.

Pensacola plays tonight in Jacksonville at 7:05 PM ET.

Daytona @ Florida

Rained out. The teams will play a doubleheader tonight. Game one will start at 5:05 PM ET.

Great Lakes 3, Dayton 1 (Game 1)

Starter Andrew Jordan gave up all three runs in three innings, and Dayton’s lone run came on an RBI-ground-out by John Sansone in the seventh.

Dayton 4, Great Lakes 2 (Game 2)

Luis Gonzalez hit a two-run home run in the second inning. Taylor Trammell had two hits, and Brantley Bell drew a bases loaded walk to lead Dayton to the win. Starter Matt Blandino gave up two runs in four innings.

Our boy Homer Bailey pitches in a rehab start tonight in Dayton at Fifth Third Field at 7:00 PM ET.
