Louisville Bats 1, Columbus Clippers 6
Lisalverto “Bobby” Bonilla took the start and the L in this one, pitching 4 innings of only 2 run ball, but gave up 9 hits in the process. Evan Mitchell is Batman pitched 1.2 but was put on the hook for 1 earned, striking out 1. Lucas “Not Lit” Luetge gave up an earned run in his 0.1 inning, while Don’t Call My Name Alejandro Chacin pitched 2 innings of 1 earned, 3 hit, 4 K ball. Kyle McMyne “With Cheese” was the only one capable of putting together an unblemished outing in the final inning, striking out 1.
The Bats bats didn’t help much, adding only 1 run to the ledger. Uncle Jesse Winker put together a 3 for 4 evening, while Sebastian “Bach” Elizalde hit safely in half of his ABs, doubling once. Beau “Duke” Amaral doubled, while Rob Brantly scored the only run of the night... the only RBI, as well, smacking a 1 run dinger as a part of a 2 hit night.
Up Next: Asher Wojciechowski (do I need to nickname here?) starts this one for the bats this morning, against Columbus at 11:05 AM ET.
Pensacola BlueWahoos were off. :(
Up Next: Pensacola starts a series with the Chattanooga ARFs at 7:15pm ET. Tyler Mahle will be starting so you probably shouldn’t miss him and his 0.55 ERA.
Daytona Tortugas 1, Fort Myers Miracle 2 (F/10)
Jose “Jorge” Lopez struck out 5 through 6 innings pitched, walking only one and giving up nothing earned (1 unearned). Juan Martinez allowed only hit through 2 innings, but Tanner “Saw the” Rainey finally showed some cracks, allowing the winning run in 1.2 innings pitched.
Gavin “Down in” LaValley produced 2 hits for the Toogs. Nick “Senzational” Senzel did too, but one of them was a double. Reydel “Funky Cold” Medina DID TOO, but one of them was a triple while also batting in a run. Chris “Annie He’s” Okey got on the board with one hit, which is certainly good to see.
Up Next: Vlad Gutierrez will sling against Fort Myers at 6:35 PM ET. He’s kind of a big deal in the Red system so, pay attention.
Dayton Dragons 4, Beloit Snappers 1
Andrew “Jackson Johnson Michael” Jordan started this one and went 5 innings, allowing nothing earned, striking out 6 in 5 innings pitched (walking 3). Jesse “Quit” Stallings allowed only a hit and a walk in his inning (striking out 2), while Jesse Adams struck out 2 in 2 innings. Joel “Slyde” Kuhnel struck out the side to earn the save.
Brantley Bell, who I don’t really have a fresh nickname for other than to say that with that name he HAS to sing country music songs at Dayton dive bars in his spare time, had 3 hits and drove in a run. Taylor Trammell recorded 2 hits and an RBI, along with a run scored and 2 walks. Jose Siri scored a run and recorded a hit, too, but drastically misunderstands what you’re trying to say when you say it back. Michael “Don’t Touch My Head” Beltre was 2 for 3, driving in a run and complementing it with a walk.
Up Next: Tony “Santigold” Santillan will sling super sick stuff at 7:30 PM ET. Watch it.
