Louisville Bats 1, Columbus Clippers 6
Things started off rough for Louisville, as a 3-run first inning would ultimately be enough to bring them down in a 6-1 loss to Columbus. Rob “Rick Flair” Woooooooooten got the start and did not last long. He went only 1 inning, giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits with no walks and 1 strikeout. “Double” Barrett Astin came on in relief and went 4.2 innings, also giving up 3 runs on 7 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts. The Bats were lacking in the offensive department again on Monday. Brandon Dixon was 2 for 3 with a walk, Jesse Winker “Hardly knew her” was 1 for 3 with a walk, and Juan Perez was 1 for 4 with a RBI double. Austin “Powers” Brice was solid in relief, pitching 3.1 shutout innings with only 2 hits, no walks, and 3 strikeouts.
Up Next: TBD gets the start tonight against Columbus at 6:35 PM ET.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos 3, Biloxi Shuckers 1
Pensacola finally capitalized on some great pitching in a 3-1 win over Biloxi. “Good God, Almighty!” Austin Ross was fantastic in his start, going 7 shutout innings while giving up only 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 9. There wasn’t a ton going on offensively, but it was enough for the Wahoos to get a win. Leon “Air out your dirty” Landry was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored, Alex “The Great” Blandino was 1 for 3 with a double, and Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino was 1 for 3 with a solo dinger.
Up Next: Pensacola is off tonight.
Daytona Tortugas 1, Fort Meyers Miracle 4
It was a stagnant Monday night for Daytona, as they lost 4-1 to Fort Meyers. Jonathon “Crawfish” Crawford went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. The offense didn’t give him much to work with, though, as they only collected 5 hits. Shed “Don” Long was 1 for 4 with a run scored, Nick “Senzational” Senzel was 1 for 3 with a walk, and Gavin “There will be LaMountains, there will be” LaValley was 1 for 3 with 1 RBI. Sarkis Ohanian struck out 3 in 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
Up Next: Jose Lopez takes the mound against Fort Meyers tonight at 6:35 PM ET.
Dayton Dragons
Dayton was off last night. Andrew Jordan starts tonight against Beloit at 7:30 PM ET.
