Farmers Only: Hitting Prospects Mash

The pitching? Meh

MLB: Fall Star Game Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
Louisville Bats 2, Toledo Mud Hens 16

What in the freaking hell? Ew. Wendolyn Bautista got destroyed. He gave up 5 earned runs over 1.2 innings (7 H, 0 BB, 1 K, 2 HR). Gross. Lucas “Get” Luetge pitched 1.1 scoreless (with an unearned run) with a strikeout, Alejandro “Cha-Ching” Chacin pitched a scoreless inning, and Hernan “The Barbarian” Iribarren did his position player thing on the mound by not allowing a run in his lone inning. Uncle Phil Ervin was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a double, and Dilson “Baby Pickle” Herrera was 1 for 2 with a walk and a RBI.

The Bats are playing as I type this with Cody Reed on the mound.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 8, Jackson Generals 4

Deck “What The Feck” McGuire was kind of wild, but no one could hit him. McGuire pitched 6 innings and gave up no runs, but did walk 5 while striking out 3 and with 1 hit allowed. Geoff “Ree” Broussard pitched 1.1 scoreless with 2 strikeouts to pick up the save. Alex “The Great” Blandino continued with his blistering May by hitting 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and a RBI. Josh “Man Eater” VanMeter was 2 for 4 with a walk, 3 runs scored, and a double. Aristides “Horse Shit” Aquino was 2 for 5 with a double and a RBI. Eric “Faygo” Jagielo was 4 for 4 with 3 doubles, a walk, a run scored, and 3 RBI.

Tyler Mahle will be on the mound at 6:35 PM CT.

Daytona Tortugas 9, Bradenton Marauders 8

Ty “Lancing” Boyles has had better starts. Boyles pitched 4.2 innings while giving up 6 runs (4 earned) with 6 hits allowed, 3 walks, and 0 strikeouts. Robert “Good” Stock pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts. Alfredo “Little Pasta” Rodriguez was 3 for 5 with a double and a RBI, Shed “Bed Head” Long was 2 for 4 with a run scored, Gavin “Walkin’ Through” LaValley was 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored, a RBI, and 3 walks, and Daniel Sweet was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Nick “Sinzinnati” Senzel hit a double and walked, and Chris Okey “Annie” was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI, and a walk.

Johnny Crawford is on the mound at 7:05 PM ET.

Dayton Dragons 5, South Bend Cubs 7

Max “Notell” Wotell had a bad start. He pitched 3.2 innings and gave up 4 earned runs (6 H, 3 BB, 4 K, 1 HR). So, the Dragons were fighting to get back into the game pretty early on. Jesse Stallings stalled the Cub offense in the final two innings. TJ “Fried” Friedl was 2 for 4 with a double, Taylor “Kennesaw Strong” Trammell was 2 for 4 with a solo dinger, 2 RBI, and a walk, John “Say It Ain’t” Sansone was 2 for 4 with a double, and Brantley “Ring My” Bell was 2 for 4 with a RBI. Tyler Stephenson also continued to find ways to get on base by singling and taking a walk. He’s walked as many times as he’s struck out so far this year. Cool cool.

Andrew Jordan pitches at 7:00 PM ET.
