Rookie Davis vs. Wily Peralta
The Cincinnati Reds are looking to avoid getting swept for the first time this season as they take on Milwaukee in the final set of their three game series. They will send Rookie Davis to the hill in hopes that he will keep the Brewers’ power in check. Davis, fresh off the 10-day DL after taking a pitch to the forearm, makes his third start of the season this afternoon. He has a 6.43 ERA so far this season and has only thrown a combined 7 innings over 2 starts, so the Reds will certainly hope for a little more longevity out of their rookie starting pitcher.
The Brewers will send Wily Peralta to the mound this afternoon. He is making his 5th start of the season and has a 4.71 ERA in 21 innings of work so far. He will hope to rebound this afternoon, as he only lasted 4 innings and gave up 6 earned runs against the Cardinals in his last start. This will be his second time facing the Reds this season. He last pitched against the Reds back on April 16, where he gave up 2 earned runs over 6 innings in a 4-2 victory for the Brewers.
Let’s go Reds! You’re our favorite team!
