Cincinnati Reds vs. Milwaukee Brewers
7:40 PM ET
Scott Feldman vs. Zach Davies
Depending upon your exact interpretation of the value of a single Win Above Replacement on the free agent market, the 0.6 bWAR Scott Feldman has already provided the Cincinnati Reds already justifies the ~$2.5 million it took to sign him. Either way, he enters Tuesday’s contest with a 2.38 ERA in 22.2 IP, and will look to improve upon the April 14th start against the Brewers where he needed 104 pitches to get through just 5 IP (having allowed 2 ER and an ugly 5 BB).
He’ll also get to pitch to Eric Thames, which is about as fun as a kick in the shins at the moment.
Milwaukee will counter with Zach Davies, who enters with an ugly 8.24 ERA. Davies started the lone game the Brewers lost against the Reds while in Cincinnati last week, yielding 3 ER in 5 IP in the Reds’ eventual 7-5 victory. He’s also from Puyallup, Washington, which sounds like it was named by Turtleman.
Do the baseball, Reds.
