The Louisville Bats were off last night. They’ll resume the game of baseball tonight at 6:35 PM EST with Jackson Stephens on the mound.
This is really dumb. Why would you play baseball for 16 innings to take the lead, lose it in the bottom of the inning, and then lose in the 17th inning? That’s a huge waste of time! So, Keury “Droppin’ Dimes” Mella was pretty great. He pitched 7.0 innings and gave up no runs, 4 hits, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. “Santo” Domingo Tapia pitched 2 scoreless with 3 strikeouts, Alex “Austin” Powers pitched 3 scoreless with 5 strikeouts. Brennan “San” Bernardino was the final pitcher not to give up runs when he pitched 3 scoreless with 2 strikeouts. Blake “BayHen” Trahan was 3 for 6 with a run scored, and Josh “ManEater” VanMeter was 2 for 6 with a walk.
TBD is the mound at 6:35 PM CT.
The Daytona Tortugas had the night off as well. They play tonight at 6:35 PM EST with Johnny Crawford on the mound.
Wennington “Get In Beddington” Romero had his first sub par start of the year. He pitched 4.2 innings and gave up 2 earned runs. That’s really not that bad, but not the kind of thing he’s done to start the year. He gave up 5 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 5. Joel “Tunnel” Kuhnel pitched a scoreless inning, and so did Andy Cox “Blox”. However, Cox did allow Patrick Riehl’s runner to score in the previous inning and allowed 3 hits and a walk. Ew. Jose “Call Me” Siri was 3 for 6 with 2 runs scored. John “Sandstone” Sansone was 1 for 3 with a double, RBI, and 2 walks, and “Butch” Cassidy Brown was 1 for 4 with a double, 3 RBI, and a walk. Brantley Bell was 2 for 5 with a double, a walk, and he stole his 9th base of the year. Other people did stuff too, but these were really your players of the game.
Ryan Olson will take the mound at 7:35 PM EST.
