Louisville Bats 9, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders 1
Louisville had no issue putting runs on the board last night, as they defeated Scranton/WB, 9-1. Nick “Get Your Kicks On” Routt got the spot start and was efficient, giving up only 1 earned run on 4 hits while striking out 1 and walking none. Evan Mitchell came on in relief and was even better, striking out 3 in 3 scoreless innings. “Obi” Juan Perez had himself a night at the plate, going 3 for 5 with 2 dingers and 2 RBI. Brandon Dixon was 2 for 4 with a solo dinger and 2 runs scored, Seth Mejias-Brean “Burrito” was 2 for 5 with a double and scored a run, and Uncle Jesse Winker was 1 for 2 with a double, a walk, and 1 RBI.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 8, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 5
The offense was working for the Blue Wahoos on Thursday, as they defeated Jacksonville 8-5 for their 5th straight win. “Stacks on” Deck McGuire got the start and gave up 4 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts over 6 innings of work. Angelo Gumbs was on fire at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a double, a homer, and 2 RBI. Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino wasn’t too far off of Gumbs, going 2 for 4 with a triple and a 2-run donk. Brian “Beef” O’Grady was 2 for 3 and also had a triple with 1 RBI and a walk. Domingo Tapia got the save with a scoreless inning of relief.

Daytona Tortugas 5, Charlotte Stone Crabs 4
Daytona was able to rally after a blown 9th inning lead to take down Charlotte 5-4 in 10 innings. Vladimir “The Impaler” Gutierrez got the start and pitched very well. He went 5 strong innings, giving up only 1 run on 5 hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts. The Tortugas had a solid night at the plate, collecting 13 hits as a team. Shed “Me” Long “Time” was 3 for 5 with a 2-run home run, “Nearly Headless” Nick Senzel was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, Gavin LaValley was 2 for 4 with a double and also had a 2-run bomb, and Alfredo “Pasta Rod” Rodriguez was 3 for 4.

Dayton Dragons 3, South Bend Cubs 8
Things did not go well for Dayton on Thursday, as they fell 8-3 to South Bend. Ryan “The Prodig” Olson got the start and was bad. He gave up 7 runs (6 earned) on 8 hits with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts over 2.2 innings. Lucas “I woke up in a new” Benenati was solid out of the ‘pen, pitching 2 shutout innings. Jose “I don’t understand your question” Siri was 2 for 5 with 2 triples and scored twice. Avain “Flu” Rachal was 1 for 4 with a solo bomb, T.J. “I was born” Friedl was 2 for 4, and Michael Beltre was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
