Louisville Bats 0, Toledo Mud Hens 2
It was a tough night at the plate for Louisville as they managed to collect 10 hits yet score nary a run in a 2-0 defeat to Toledo. Things were not tough for Sal “Sterling Cooper” Romano, who pitched 7 shutout innings, giving up only 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking none. At the plate, Li’l Sebastian Elizalde has been like 5,000 candles in the wind to start the season, collecting a hit in each of the first 6 games. He continued that hot streak last night in a 3 for 4 performance. Chad “Walla Walla” Walach was also solid, going 2 for 4 on the evening. Zach “Soft J” Vincej had the only extra base hit for the Bats as he went 1 for 4 with a double. Evan Mitchell “Is Batman” threw 1.1 innings in relief and struck out 3 batters.
Up Next: Rob Wooten gets the start against Toledo tonight at 6:35 PM ET.
Pensacola was off tonight. Tyler Mahle takes on Biloxi tonight at 6:35 PM CT.
Daytona Tortugas 2, Jupiter Hammerheads 1
It took 15 innings, but Daytona came out and won a marathon of a game over Jupiter, 2-1. Wendolyn “Woey Bats” Bautista got the start and gave up only 1 run on 4 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts over 6 innings of work. The bullpen came in and shut down Jupiter the rest of the way. Austin Orewiler pitched 3 innings and struck out 5, Tanner “Just met her” Rainey pitched 2 innings and struck out 5, Robert “Beef” Stock pitched 3 innings and also struck out 5, and Geoff Broussard struck out 1 in 1 inning. In all, the relievers combined to give up only 3 hits in 9 innings of work while striking out 16. I think that’s good.
At the plate, Daniel Sweet was 2 for 4 with 2 walks and 1 RBI, Gavin LaValley was also 2 for 4 with a walk, Alfredo “Alfrod” Rodriguez was 2 for 7, and Chris Okey “Dokey” was 2 for 6 with a double.

Tony “Santigold” Santillan got the start and was solid, giving up only 2 runs on 4 hits with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts over 5.1 innings of work. The Dragons only collected 4 hits, but they made them count when they did. Avain Rachal was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, a triple, and a run scored. Tyler “Bat flippin’” Stephenson was 1 for 4 with 1 RBI and Jose “Ask” Siri was 1 for 3 and also had 1 RBI. The bullpen was lights out, as Lucas “Illuminati” Benenati, Andy Cox, and Ryan Hendrix combined for 3.2 shutout innings with Benenati and Hendrix each collecting 3 strikeouts.
