Tons of storylines today as the Reds take on the Mets on Labor Day.
First, let’s start with the Reds. Robert Stephenson makes his 3rd start of the year after being the only September callup to jump right into the rotation. He’s had two other spot starts throughout the year, both of which went well, but coachability issues have plagued his season at AAA. Still, he’s ready, and will get a chance over the next month to prove it.
On the other side, Jay Bruce makes his GABP return in the opposing clubhouse. He hit a home run off of former Red Mat Latos last night, so I’m sure he’s licking his chops to get back to a familiar ballpark where he rakes. Bartolo Colon gets the ball for the Mets, who was making his big league debut when Robert Stephenson was in preschool.
Go Reds!
