After only 2 and a third innings, Cody Reed left the game in Louisville with “back spasms.”

Charlotte Knights 2, Louisville Bats 7

Good News: Cody Reed started in this one! Bad News: He came out of the game early. Appears at this point to be back spasms, but all I can say is gosh darnit Cody don’t be hurt. And, if you are, get well soon won’t you? Anyway, Reed came out after 2.1 innings of 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K ball. Stephen Johnson relieved Reed, pitching 2.2 IP with 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K. Dayan “Jumbito” Diaz pitched 2 innings allowing nothing and striking out 2, while JJ “Remember Him?” Hoover and Wandy Peralta finished the final 2, allowing no runs.

Dilson “Pickle” Herrera dingered off old friend David Holmberg for is only hit of the night, Seth “Green” Mejias-Brean “Casserole” recorded 2 hits including an RBI and a run scored, while Carlos Triunfel smacked 2 doubles and scored 2 runs and an RBI. Chris Berset managed 2 hits, 1 of which being a dinger, batted in 3 and scored 2.

Up Next: Daniel Wright looks to not be wrong against the Knights at 7:05pm.

Jacksonville Suns 0, Pensacola Blue Wahoos 4

“Double” Barrett Astin was great in this one, going 7 IP, allowing no runs and 5 hits, striking out 7. Nick “It Wasn’t A” Routt worked around 2 walks and a hit in his 1.2 IP of work, striking out 4. Alejandro Chacin struck out the last batter of the game to receive the save. Brandon “Doesn’t Suck” Dixon hit a single, a double, walked, and batted a run in, while Taylor “Bubba” Sparks had 2 hits and scored a run. Eric “Also, Remember Me?” Jagielo hit a double and batted a run in.

Up Next: Salvatore Romano will attempt to pitch like a Mad Man against Jacksonville at 7:30pm EDT.

Daytona Tortugas 2, Lakeland Flying Tigers 3 (F/7, G1)

The first of a doubleheader, Michael Sullivan got the go and went 5.1 IP, allowing 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB and 2 K. Alex “Austin” Powers pitched a flawless 0.2, striking out 1. They weren’t picked up by the offense, however, as the Baby Turtles could only manage 3 hits in 7 innings. Shed “Don” Long hit a double and batted in a run, while Gavin “Down In” LaValley hit a double as well and scored a run.

Up Next: Right now didn’t I just say it was a doubleheader gah!

Daytona Tortugas 4, Lakeland Flying Tigers 5 (F/7, G2)

Seth Varner went the distance in this shortened game, but his defense let him down in a big way. He allowed 10 hits, but only 2 of the 5 runs were earned. He allowed only 2 walks and struck out 7. Gavin LaValley had another 2 hits, including a dinger, batting a run in (obviously) and scoring 2. Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino hit 2 and scored a run. Garrett “Tupper” Boulware smacked a dinger.

Up Next: Shit they just played two, you greedy bastards. Anyway, Tejay “Y’all” Antone will mound up against Lakeland at 1:00pm EDT.

Dayton Dragons 2, Bowling Green Hot Rods 5

Jesus “Walks” Reyes started for the Dragons, and allowed 5 ER, 5 H, and 3 walks in 5.1 innings, striking out 2. Ryan “Petey” Hendrix allowed only 1 hit and struck out 1 in his 1.2 IP. Tanner “It’s Been So” Rainey allowed only a hit in his 1 inning of work. Nick Senzel and Chris Okey didn’t play in this one, so the Dragons managed only 5 hits. James Vasquez hit 2 of them despite being named like a UFC fighter, while batting a run in. Luis Gonzalez doulbed a run in, while Josciel Veras hit and scored a run despite no one knowing he actually exists.

Up Next: Dayton is off.

Billings Mustangs 3, Great Falls Voyagers 5

Ian “Ahloa” Kahaloa got the start and pitched 6 innings, allowing only 5 hits and 4 runs (3 earned), walking only 1 and striking out 4. Brian “Big Game” Hunter pitched the final 2, allowing 3 hits but only 1 earned run, striking out 2. T. J. Friedl recorded 2 more hits and a run scored, John Sansone “G7” smacked a triple as part of a 2 hit, 2 RBI night. Jose Siri still doesn’t understand the questions we ask him, unless it’s “Why do you get hits,” and he responds with a 1 hit, 1 RBI, 1 run scored night.

Up Next: Scott “Dewey” Moss will take the mound against Great Falls at 9:00pm EDT.

AZL Angels 5, AZL Reds 2

The baby Reds got whipped by the Halos just like their big brothers. Gregory “The Rhino” Reinoso pitched 3 innings, only allowing 3 hits and 2 walks, striking out 4. Yerry “President” Santos pitched 3 innings, allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and a walk, but struck out 5. Rock “Chalk” Rucker pitched an inning, walking 1 and striking out 2. Darren Shred got shredded, allowing 3 runs in 1.2 innings. Issac Anesty got the final out with a strike out after working around 2 hits. Raul “Mike” Wallace powered the offense, with 2 hits including a double and an RBI. Bruce Yari had a hit and the other RBI. Steve Selsky is apparently too sexy for AAA, because he’s down here walking twice for the AZLiens.

Up Next: AZL Reds are off tonight.
