Louisville 1, Toledo 8
Cody "Got Dang" Reed pitched around some trouble but kept the runs off the board. Cody allowed 2 earned runs over 6 innings, but gave up 10 hits, walked 3, and didn't strikeout a single batter. Need more strikeouts. The bullpen was bad bad bad bad. The offense wasn't good either. To highlight the night, Dilson "Dill Pickles" Herrera walked twice. Yeah, that's about it.
Mystery Pitcher is on the mound at 7:05 PM EST.
Pensacola 3, Mobile 2
If there is one team in this organization that likes winning, it's most definitely the Wahoos. General Jackson Stephens is probably to the point where we gotta worry about innings, but he's still turning into decent starts. He pitched only 5 innings (79 pitches) and didn't give up an earned run (though 1 run did score). He gave up 7 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 4. Jacob "Arafat" Ehret picked himself up after a rough outing and pitched 2 scoreless with 3 strikeouts, and I AM Abel De Los Santos picked up his second save after pitching a scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts. Phillip "Phire" Ervin is kinda heating up and went 3 for 4 with a solo dinger and 2 RBI.
Barrett Astin pitches tonight at 6:30 PM CT.
Daytona 3, Lakeland 2
Daytona is also loving themselves some winning baseball because they played two last night and won both games. In Game 1, Seth Varner took the mound for an inning and gave up a run, but Jose "Porky" Lopez pitched 6 innings and gave up only a solitary earned run. He allowed 2 hits, 2 walks, but struck out 7. Alex "Light Tower' Powers got the win by pitching 2 scoreless and clean frames. Ty "Cherry Tree" Washington was 2 for 4 with a solo dinger and a walk.
Daytona 2, Lakeland 1
In Game 2, Ismael Guillon kept making some good improvements. He pitched 5 innings and gave up a run. 4 hits were allowed with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Ariel "Flipper Legs' Hernandez pitched a scoreless inning, and Jimmy "Swagger" Herget picked up his 23rd saved by pitching a scoreless inning with strikeout. Btw, he has a 1.76 ERA on the season. That's just dandy.
Dayton 5, Lansing 3
Ty "Lansing" Boyles has had kinda had a rough season, but he put it behind him last night. Ty pitched 7 shutout innings (with 1 unearned run) and gave up 5 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 7. Shark Kiss Ohanian didn't fair too well. Zack "Mighty" Shields was 2 for 3 with a triple, RBI, and a walk, Brantley "Liberty" Bell was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a walk, and Mitch Piatnik "At The Disco" was 2 or 4. Nick "Still Yawning" Senzel was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and a walk. That guy has to be bored.
Jesus Reyes is scheduled to pitch at 7:00 PM EST.
Billings 7, Missoula 3
Ian "Aloha" Kahoaloa was pretty dang good. He pitched 4.1 innings and gave up 1 earned run (2 total) and only allowed 2 hits, 0 walks, and struck out 6. This kid is pretty exciting. Patrick "Let's Get" Riehl pitched 2.2 scoreless with a strikeout, and Jesse "Samuel" Adams pitched 1 scoreless with a strikeout. T.J. "Mr. Finney" Friedl was 2 for 4 with a walk, and he also stole his 6th base of the year. John Sansone continued with his hot bat. He went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI, and Alejo Lopez hit a 3 run dinger.
Zac Correll starts tonight at 7:05 PM MT.
Baby Reds 2, Baby Athletics 4
Tim Melville was super bad. Wennington Romero took over and pitched 6 innings and gave up a run with 3 hits allowed with a walk and 6 strikeouts. Connor Bennett took over to finish the gave and he pitched 1.2 scoreless with a strikeout. The Reds had 3 hits. That's pukey.
