Farmers Only: Dayton and Billings good, everyone else bad

Chris Okey, Shed Long, and Nick Senzel all help lead Dayton to a late victory Tuesday.

Nick Falzerano,

Louisville 0, Indianapolis 5

Louisville failed to do much of anything that resembled playing baseball well in a 5-0 loss to Indianapolis last night. Drew Hayes started and was meh, going 4 innings while giving up 4 hits, 4 walks, 1 earned run, and striking out none. Wandy "Wily" Peralta was solid, giving up a hit and striking out 3 in 2 scoreless innings. Matt "Mr." Magill was bad, giving up 4 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings of relief.

There wasn’t anything to write home about from the offense, either. Jose "Pizza" Peraza was 1 for 4 and Uncle Jesse Winker was 1 for 3. Bryson Smith walked twice, so good for him.

Up Next: Rookie Davis pitches at 1:35 PM ET against Indianapolis.

Pensacola was off tonight. They’ll send Jackson Stephens to the hill against Mississippi at 7:00 PM CT tonight.

Daytona 1, Dunedin 10

The Tortugas did their best to replicate Louisville’s performance, and ended up one-upping them in a 10-1 loss. Jose Lopez got the start and wasn’t great, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts over 4 innings. Shed "Don" Long continued to mash, going 2 for 4 and scoring the only Tortugas run. Gavin "Lily of" LaValley was also 2 for 4 and had a double. The bullpen was "April version of the 2016 Reds" horrible in this game, so check out the box score if you want to re-live those memories.

Up Next: Keury Mella takes the mound tonight at 6:30 PM ET.

Dayton 3, Fort Wayne 2

Dayton was the team winning on the farm for a change, defeating Fort Wayne 3-2. Wendolyn "More like WINdolyn imvho" Bautista got the start and was solid, going 5 innings and giving up 2 runs on 7 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Chris "Annie are you" Okey had a good night, going 2 for 4 with a run scored, Luis Gonzalez was also 2 for 4, adding a triple and a run scored, Nick "Senzinnati" Senzell was 1 for 3 with a RBI, and Shane "In the Membrane" Mardirosian was 1 for 3 with a 2-run dinger. Sarkis Ohanian got his 12th save while striking out 2 in a scoreless inning from the ‘pen.

Up Next: Antonio Santillan tries to bounce back against Fort Wayne tonight at 7:00 PM ET.

Billings 7, Idaho Falls 2

Billings used a 5-run 8th inning to defeat Idaho Falls 7-2 last night. Zac Correll got the start and was solid, going 3 innings and giving up only 1 run on 4 hits while walking none and striking out 5. Alfredo "the other pasta" Mena relieved him and was just as effective. He pitched 3.1 shutout innings and gave up only 3 hits while striking out 2. Hector Vargas was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI, Jose "Ask" Siri was 2 for 5 with a solo dinger, and Mitch "I’m an Ent" Trees was 1 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI.

Up Next: Moises Nova starts tonight against Idaho Falls at 7:00 PM MT.

AZL Reds 3, AZL White Sox 8

The Baby Reds had a 10-game win streak come to an end, falling 8-3 to the Baby White Sox in their first loss since August 1. Wennington "Not Winnington" Romero got the start and was bad, giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits with only 1 strikeout in 2.2 innings pitched. The rest of the pitching last night was also bad. Daniel Jiminez and Leandro "Man it’s a hot one" Santana were both 2 for 4 with a run scored. Raul Walace was 1 for 4 with 1 RBI. Nobody had an XBH, which doesn’t seem good.

Up Next: The Baby Reds are off tonight.
