Louisville Bats 7, Charlotte Knights 3
Tim Adelman was able again, giving up no earned runs in 7 full. J.J. “Groover” Hoover used to be a major league pitcher, remember? Anyway, he blew the save in the 8th (no surprise, right?) but then got credited with the win, because pitcher wins are stupid. Anyway, he gave up 3 hits and an earned run. Kevin “Love” Shackelford pitched the 9th and allowed nothing, striking out 1.
Uncle Jesse Winker was 3-3 in this one, including a walk. He’s hitting .303 now. The Cassarole Seth Mejias-Brean doubled and walked, scoring 2 runs. Beau “Derek” Amaral smacked a 2 run dinger, and Chris Berset had 2 hits, an RBI and 2 runs scored.
Up Next: TBD is listed, but Rookie Davis was listed last night, and didn’t pitch. I’ll bet it’ll be The Rook at Gwinnett, 7:05pm EDT.
Tennessee Smokies 0, Pensacola Blue Wahoos 1, Storm Clouds 100 EMOJI
Yeah, the Wahoos were lightninged out. Check back tomorrow Monday for Mr. Michael’s take on all the fun.
Tampa Yankees 7, Daytona Tortugas 0
Jose “Jorge” Lopez defense let him down in a big way, apparently, because he only allowed 3 ER in this one, though he watched 7 cross the plate in 6 innings, striking out 3 and walking 2. Juan Martinez walked one and allowed nothing in 1 inning of work.
Obviously the Torts didn’t do much on offense. Gavin “Down in” LaValley was outchea in the streets, smacking a double and a single on a 2 hit night. Shed Long had a hit, because Shed Long hits, while Balakay Trahan chipped in with a triple.
Up Next: Wait a damn minute, would you?
Tampa Yankees 3, Daytona Tortugas 4
As if the Baby Turtles hadn’t played, like, 18 games in the last 3 days, they went to extras in Game Two tonight. Luckily for them, they walked it off in a win. They Call Me Ismael Guilon was brillant, pitching 6 full innings, allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9. Unfortunately Jimmy Herget is gonna have to drink to forget tonight, because he blew it with 4 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), all in the top of the 7th (which should’ve been the last inning). Brennan Bernardino pitched an inning, allowing nothing and striking out 1.
Juan Duran had 2 hits, including a triple, and 2 runs scored. Shed Long had a hit and an RBI because Shed Long hits and has RBIs, while Chad Tromp Made the Tortugas Great Again with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, including the walk-off hit.
Up Next: TBD will go at 7:05pm EDT.
South Bend Cubs 7, Dayton Dragons 4
Alex “Spider” Webb wasn’t good, allowing 7 hits and 5 earned in 5 innings, striking out 3. Ryan “Petey” Hendrix pitched 2 innings and gave up a hit, a run and a walk, striking out 2. Jacob Constante pitched the other 2, walking 2 and giving up 2 hits with 1 run and 1 strike out.
Nick Senzel”sational” doubled and scored a run. Chris “Annie are you” Okey doubled, batted a run in, and scored a run. James Vasquez doubled, batted 2 runs in, and scored a run. Seems like a lot of “doubled” and “scored a run” for a loss but, here we are.
Up Next: Tony Santillan will try and return to his strike out ways against the A Cubs at 7:00pm EDT.
Billings Mustangs
and those bunch of good for nothing rookies were off.
AZL Reds 4, AZL Diamondbacks 1
Everyone pitched for the Baby Reds, and only a few of them did so particularly well. Dauri Moreta struck out the side to pick up the save. “Jay” Bruce Yari picked up 2 hits and 2 RBI, Nadir Ljatifi, whose name looks like someone just barfed letters on paper, hit a double and scored a run, while Raul “Rusty” Wallace had 3 hits, including a double, and scored 2 runs.
Up Next: The AZLiens get Friday off.
