The Reds get a much-needed off day, and are rewarded with having to face Jose Fernandez tonight. Goody.
Fernandez has been lights out so far this season and earned himself an All-Star nod. His only bad start actually happened in the last one he made, where he gave up 9 runs (6 ER) in Atlanta, in only 5 2/3 innings. Ignoring the fact that that's a long start for a Reds starter to make, it's one of his shortest outings of the season. That means he'll be looking to bounce back in front of his home crowd, which could get ugly.
The Reds have Dan Straily going, who bounced back from a rough June with a great outing against the Nats in his last time out. He gave up 3 runs in 7 innings in that start, and the Reds went on to win the game.
