Louisville Bats 2, Indianapolis Indians 3

Louisville lost a close one on Wednesday, falling 3-2 to Indianapolis in an 11 inning affair. Robert “Bob Steve” Stephenson got the start and was back to gettin’ down with his bad self. He lasted 6.1 innings, gave up only 4 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 4 and struck out 8 on the evening. He was a victim of the long ball, as both earned runs were given up on solo dingers. While the walk total could come down, it’s nice to see that high strikeout number again. Kyle “NASCAR” Waldrop went 3 for 5 on the night and scored 1 run. Carlos Triunfel was 2 for 5 and also scored a run.

“Shake that” Raffy “Taffy” Lopez was 0 for 3 and had the only RBI on the evening. Nick Routt “44” pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Drew Hayes only gave up 1 run in 2.2 innings, but when you’re the visiting team in extra innings that also means you gave up the winning run.

Homer Bailey makes another rehab start tonight against Columbus at 7:05 PM ET.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 10, Mobile Bay Bears 4

Pensacola used a 3-run 7th and a 4-run 8th to lay the smack-down on Mobile, 10-3 on Wednesday. “General” Jackson Stephens went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits while walking 5 and striking out 2. All of the damage was done in the first inning, as all 3 runs were given up in the early frame.

The offense was firing on all cylinders for the Wahoos on Wednesday. Jeff Gelalich was 3 for 5 with a solo dinger, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI. Phil “Phlervin” Ervin was also 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored, and Brandon Dixon added 3 hits of his own in a 3 for 4, 1 double and 2 RBI evening. Zach “Soft J” Vincej was 2 for 4 with a solo dinger and Eric “Deuce Bigelow Male” Jagielo was 1 for 3 with a solo dinger of his own. Barrett “A Little Place Called” Astin struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings of relief.

TBD gets the start tonight against Mobile at 6:35 PM ET.

Daytona Tortugas 7, Tampa Yankees 0

It was an all-around solid game for Daytona last night, as they defeated Tampa 7-0. Wendolyn “Bat Flipping” Bautista got the start and gave up 4 hits in 6.1 shutout innings while walking 1 and striking out 3. Brian “Beef” O’Grady was extra beefy at the plate last night, going 4 for 5 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Gavin “As I walk through” LaValley also had 2 RBI as part of his 1 for 5 evening. Ronald “Es Muy” Bueno was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 runs scored and Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino was 0 for 2 but reached base thrice via the walk. Nolan Becker and Jimmy “Get a Brain” Moran each pitched 1.1 scoreless innings of relief, with the latter striking out 3 to close out the 9th inning.

Mystery Pitcher gets the start against the Brevard County Manatees tonight at 6:35 PM ET.

Dayton Dragons 4, Lansing Lugnuts 3

The Dragons scored a run in the 9th inning to pull off the 1-run upset over Lansing last night because, let’s be honest, every Dayton win feels like an upset at this point. Jose Lopez was solid on the mound, scattering 7 hits over 5 innings, giving up 3 runs (1 earned) with no walks and 5 strikeouts. Jesus “Saves” Reyes picked up where Lopez left off and gave up only 1 hit in 3 innings of work while walking 1 and striking out 4 to earn the win on the evening. Brantley “Ring My” Bell was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI, Chris Okey “Dokey Smokey” was 1 for 3 and scored a run, Shed Long was 2 for 4 and also scored a run, and Shane “In The Membrane” Mardirosian was 1 for 4 with a double and the game winning RBI. Sarkis “Good Name” Ohanian got the save by striking out the side in his inning of work.

Tanner Rainey gets the start against Lansing tonight at 7:05 PM ET.

Billings Mustangs 4, Helena Brewers 2

Billings improved to 12-7 on the season with a defeat of Helena last night. Ian “Mele Kalikimaka” Kahaloa got the start and pitched 4 solid innings, giving up no runs on 2 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Alex “Spider” Webb came in and promptly struck out 4 in 2 innings to get the win. Demi “Lovato” Orimoloye was 3 for 4 with a run scored, Lucas Erceg was 2 for 4 on the night, and Joantgel Segovia was 1 for 5 with 1 RBI.

Moises Nova takes the mound tonight at 7:00 PM MT.

AZL Reds 7 , AZL D-Backs 8

The Baby Reds let an early lead slip away as they fell to the Baby D-Backs 8-7 on Wednesday. Nick “Mmmmbop” Hansen got the start and gave up 3 earned runs on 5 hits with 5 walks and 9 strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work. “Uncle” Jesse Winker rehabbed and went 1 for 3 with a 2-run Winker Dinker. Tyler “TySteve” Stephenson also rehabbed and went 1 for 2 with a run scored and 2 walks. Nadir “The J is Silent” Ljatifi was 1 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI and Carlos Rivero was 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. The bullpen was bad in this one and should feel bad.

TBD starts tomorrow against the Baby White Sox at 7:00 PM MT.
