The most recent Reds draftees request your attention

Louisville Bats 4, Columbus Clippers 1

Amir Garrett took the bump and was brilliant in this one, allowing 6 hits and 0 runs in 6 innings, walking 0 and striking out 5. Amir is doing good things, in case you haven't been paying attention. "Jumbinho" Dayan Diaz pitched 1.2 innings of no run, 1 hit ball, striking out 3. Kevin "Love" Shackelford pitched the final 1.1 innings, getting the save and striking out 1. Uncle Jesse Winker had no mercy on the Clippers, going 3 for 3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored. Hernan "The Barbarian" Iribarren smacked a dinger and walked on a 2 run scored night, while Jermaine "Dupree" Curtis had 2 hits and 2 RBI.

Up Next: TBD will take the mound and spin a gem for the Bats at 7:05 EDT.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, Jacksonville Suns 3

Nick Travieso allowed only 3 runs in this one, but it was enough, as he lasted only 4.2 innings, striking out 3 and allowing 8 hits. Evan Mitchell "Is Batman" struck out 2 and allowed nothing in 1.1 innings, El'Hajj just fuckin' walked a guy in 1 inning, and Jimmy "Get A Brain" Moran allowed only a hit in his 1 inning. Alex "the Great" Blandino was 2-4 with a double and scoring a run, Sebastian Elizalde smacked 2 doubles on a 3 hit night, knocking one in and scoring the other run. Taylor "Bubba" Sparks was responsible for the other RBI, but the Wahoo's offense couldn't muster enough to pull out the game.

Up Next: The Wahoos are off.

Jupiter Hammerheads 5, Daytona Tortugas 11

Keury Mella "Yella" was great in this one, going 6 innings, allowing 7 hits but only 1 run, striking out 5 and walking 1. Brennan Bernardino allowed 2 runs in his 0.2 innings of work, and the "Little Mermaid" Ariel Hernandez gave up 2 more in 2 innings of work, striking out 4 and walking 2. Nolan "Becker and" Becker struck out the only batter he faced on the evening. The Dragonas offense exploded Jonathan "Rey Don't Think So" Reynoso went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBIs, Chad "Donald" Tromp enjoyed the RNC stage, smashing a dinger on a 2-3 night, scoring 2 runs and batting in 2. Angelo Gumbs enjoyed a 2 RBI night on his 1 hit, and well basically everyone who played did something, so you should probably click the link right up there.

Up Next: No Pitcher is listed for the Baby Turtles, but they'll go again in Florida at 7:05 EDT.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 3, Dayton Dragons 8

Tanner Rainey wasn't good, but luckily was backed by a newly stacked Dragons lineup. Rainey, for his effort, went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 6 walks, striking out 4. Lucas "Cinci" Benenati was brilliant in relief, striking out 5 in 3 innings, allowing nothing, nothing, and nothing. Sarkis Ohanian allowed and hit and struck out 1 in 1 inning of work. The last two Reds first rounders did battle to wow us in this one, though, and it's the highlight of the Farmers Only. 2016 Reds first rounder Nick Senzel mashed his first dinger AND his first triple as a professional, on a 4-5 night, batting in 4 and scoring 2 himself. 2015 Reds first rounder Tyler Stephenson, to be outdone but, you know, not by much, went 4-4 with a double and a run scored. Reds 2016 draftee Chris Okey just had 2 hits and scored a run, while Shed "Don" Long had a double on a 2 hit, 2 runs scored night. The Dragons! Catch the fever!

Up Next: Dayton is off as well.

Orem Owiz 16, Billings Mustangs 7

The 'Stangs got bashed and bloodied in this one, as you can tell by the final score. Orem managed 17 hits and scored 16 runs. They also left 16 on base, so it could've been a lot worse. Moises "Chevy" Nova started, gave up 4 runs (only 1 earned) and walked 3. Soid Marquez pitched 2 innings, gave up 3 earned and 3 walks. Jake "Jack" Johnson gave up 2 runs (1 earned) in 2.1 innings of work, walking 2. "Chicken" Alfredo Mena was the first Mustang to record a strike out... unfortunately he coughed up 6 earned runs in 1 inning of work. Andy Cox "of the Wox" pitched the final 2 innings, gave up no earned runs, walked only 1 and struck out 2. So, he was basically Cy Young last night, all things considered. Taylor Trammell hit a double and scored a run, Beau Amaral had 3 hits, and Ty Blankmeyer had 2 hits, a walk, and an RBI. Josh "E." Sansone had 3 hits, an RBI and a run scored. He also was credited with FIVE errors over at 2B, so, you know. It was give and take.

Let's all just forget this one happened.

Up Next: Antonio Santillan will attempt to get the Mustangs back on track with his filthy stuff at 9:05 EDT.
