First game back from the break, and it can't come soon enough. It was nice to have a few days off and the distraction of a ultra fun home run derby, and another boring All-Star Game, but after two days of nothing, I'm happy to have baseball back. With 4 days off for the Reds, the media in this town have started dubbing it "Bengals season" already, which is infuriating. There's still plenty to pay attention to here for the next few months.
For the rest of this month, we have the trade deadline looming and another huge opportunity for the Reds to continue rebuilding. August will probably see more big league debuts, and maybe even the return of Homer Bailey (if not before that), and we'll see the kids in September.
It starts tonight, though. The Reds face Milwaukee at home, and Disco will have the ball for it. Anthony has been the Reds' best pitcher lately, and it hasn't really been close. He'll face Matt Garza for the Brew Crew.
