Daytona gets its second straight shutout and Dayton wins a game!

Louisville 5, Syracuse 3

Louisville was able to snap out of a 3 game losing streak, defeating the Syracuse Chiefs 5-3 on Wednesday. Cody Reed got the start for the Bats, and while he wasn't at his best, he was still pretty good. He scattered 10 hits over 7 innings, giving up 3 runs with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Juan Perez "Hilton" was 2 for 4 with a triple and a solo dinger. Scott "Mr. Schneebly" Schebler was 1 for 3 with a 2-run dinger and a walk. "Uncle" Jesse Winker was 1 for 4 with a walk and run scored and Cody Reed raised his average to .250, going 1 for 3 with 1 RBI. Jumbo Diaz earned his 7th save in AAA with 1 strikeout in a scoreless inning of relief.

Mystery Pitcher faces off tonight against Syracuse at 6:35 PM ET.

Pensacola 4, Jackson 8

Pensacola took a tie game into the 9th, but a walk-off grand slam would doom them in an 8-4 loss to Jackson. Rookie "Of The Year" Davis got the start, going 4.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Phil "Phlervin" Ervin honked his 6th dinger of the season in a 1 for 3 evening, Kyle Parker "Brothers" was 2 for 4 with a solo dinger of his own, and Tony Renda continued his fantastic season with a 2 for 5, 1 RBI night. Barrett " A Little Place Called" Astin struck out 2 in 1.2 scoreless innings of relief, and Nick Routt dropped his season ERA to 0.55 with 1.2 scoreless innings.

Daytona 8, Palm Beach 0

Everything was clicking for Daytona last night, as they earned their second straight shutout in an 8-0 victory over Palm Beach. Tyler "Poppin" Mahle was great, pitching 7 shutout innings, giving up only 5 hits, 0 walks, and had 7 strikeouts. Good Golly, Mr. Mahle. Aristides "Heiress Titties" Aquino was 2 for 4, knocking 2 donkers and driving in 2. Taylor "Bubba" Sparks was also 2 for 4, hitting a double and scoring twice and Angelo Gumbs joined him, going 2 for 4 with 1 RBI and scoring a run, and Ronald "Muy" Bueno was 2 for 3 with a double, walk, run scored, and 1 RBI. Alex "Danger" Powers and Nolan Becker each gave up a hit, a walk, and struck out 1 in scoreless innings of relief.

Keury Mella pitches against Palm Beach tonight at 7:05 PM ET.

Dayton 6, South Bend 4

Dayton actually won a game, defeating South Bend 6-4 on Wednesday. Jacob Constante was solid, giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in 6.1 innings. James Vasquez went 3 for 4 with a run scored and RBI, Reydel Medina was 2 for 4 with a 3-run dinger, and Shane "In The Membrane" Mardirosian was 2 for 4 with a double. Sarkis Ohanian got the save in a scoreless inning of relief.
