Farmers Only: The Pitching Was Good

Obviously, because Tyler Mahle pitched last night.

Louisville 3, Buffalo 4

Wandy "Vandy" Peralta took the spot start, though he's typically a reliever, and did a bang up job.  Peralta pitched 6 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits, a walk, and striking out 2.  The bullpen was not so good. Jermaine "Lee" Curtis was 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored and a solo dinger.  Steve "Oh So" Selsky hit a two run ding dong, and Kyle "Wallflower" Waldrop was 2 for 3 with a double.

Jonny Moscot is on the mound at 7:05 PM EST.

Pensacola 3, Chattanooga 0

Chattanooga has always had a special place in my heart when they were a member of the Reds' organization.  Mostly, that is due to me growing up a stone's throw from Chatanooga, Ohio. Tyler "Good Golly Miss" Mahle gives zero shits about special places in my heart or where I'm from.  He's just slicin' up eyeballs.  Mahle pitched 5 scoreless innings in his second AA start.  He allowed 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out 8.  Jacob "Record Scratch" Ehret pitched 2 scoreless with a strikeout.  Carlos "Not Denver" Gonzalez and Alejandro "Cha-Ching" Chacin both pitched scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts.  Joe Hudson was 2 for 3, and Phillip Ervin was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks.

Rookie Davis starts tonight at 6:30 PM CT

Daytona 6, Brevard County 7

Tejay "TJ" Antone has had better starts.  He gave up 4 earned runs in 5.2 innings.  9 hits were allowed, though he didn't walk a batter and struck out 4.  The problem were the 2 homers. Jeremy "Evil" Kivel pitched a scoreless inning. Ty "General" Washington had a kick ass night.  He hit double dingers and 3 RBI on a 3 for 5, 3 runs scored, night. Aristides "Horse Hockey" Aquino was 2 for 4.

Mystery Pitcher pitches for both teams tomorrow at 7:05 PM EST.

Dayton 2, Fort Wayne 1

Hey, they won one.  Austin "Big Brother" Orewiler was totes awesome in his 6 innings of shutout baseball.  He allowed 3 hits, no walks, and struck out 6.  Junior "Not That" Arias pitched a scoreless inning.  Kevin "Where'd You Come From?" Franklin was 3 for 4 with a RBI

Jose Lopez will pitch tonight at 7:05 PM EST.

Billings 4, Great Falls 2

Adrian "Brody" Rodriguez started and did quite well.  He went 5.1 innings while giving up only 2 earned runs.  He gave up 4 hit, no walks, and struck out 8.  Jake "Nick Miller" Johnson (2 IP, 4 K), Ryan "Jimi" Hendrix (1.2 IP, 0 K), Andy "Randy" Cox (1 IP, 0 K), and Lucas "Nasty Nati" Benenati (1 IP, 2 K) were all solid out of the pen. Nick "Senzational" Senzel was 2 for 4 with a RBI, walk, and a run scored.  Senzel and Chris Okey were swiftly promoted to Dayton, though they didn't really perform in Billings.  However, they're distinguished college hitters, and I doubt the Reds are really that concerned with how they played in Billings.

Moises Nova will be on the mound tonight at 7:05 PM MT.

AZL Reds 8, AZL Rangers 12

NIck "MMMbop" Hanson got trounced in his first professional start.  He went 2 innings while giving up 5 earned runs on 4 hits 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts.  Darren "Shredder" Shred pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings, and so did Connor Bennett who also had 3 strikeouts.  Daniel Jimenez was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI.  Morgan "Loafy" Lofstrom hit a solo dinger and walked.  Emmanuel Cruz, Michael Beltre, and Derik "Deri-lick My Balls" Capitillo all had multi-hit games.  Cruz and Capitillo also walked.
