Farmers Only: Sal Romano Pitches

And he throws...

Bobertson Stephenson was a bit wild in this outing, but he still didn't give up many runs.  Stephenson pitched 6 innings of 2 earned run ball.  He would allow 6 hits, 4 walks, but did strike out 6.  Chad "Shark Bait HOOOOOHAHA" Rogers pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts.  Steve Delabar picked up the save with a scoreless inning with a strikeout.  Steve "So So" Selsky and Raffy "Laffy Taffy" Lopez was 2 for 4.  Lopez also contributed with 2 RBI.

There is a TBD on the mound for Friday's game at 7;15 PM EST start.  No game today.

Pensacola 8, Biloxi 3

I think, or in my unimportant opinion, that Sal Romano may have had his best start of the young season.  So far he has made it look like the scouts were right in saying he was due for a move to the bullpen.  However, Romano shut their yappers last night with a start where he pitched 6 innings and gave up 3 runs (only 2 earned).  He allowed 5 hits, 2 walks, but struck out 8.  Daniel "Oh So" Wright pitched 2 innings with 3 strikeouts, and Alejandro Chacin pitched a scoreless inning.  Good for them.  Speaking of Wright, he has a 9.9 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9.  He' s been a reliever all year after looking like a decent starter in the past.  He's 25 and the Reds may see a bullpen arm in him.  He's one to watch to solve present and future bullpen toils.  He's hanging on to a tidy 0.45 ERA in AA.  Calten Daal "Sheep" and Chad "Walla Walla" Wallach were both 3 for 4.  However, Mr. Walla Walla hit a two run dinger. Phillipe Ervin also hit a 3 run triple to continue his streak of beating the poopy out the baseball.

Jackson Stephens plans on pitching tonight at 6:35 PM CT.

Daytona didn't play because it rains in Florida.

Dayton 4, Burlington 3

Dayton was so desperate for a win the stuck around for 15 innings to lock one down.  The Burlington Bees have a pitcher named Joe Gatto that started the game.  That's not really important other than the fact I think Wick's cat is pitching in minor league games.  The Dragons started Jacob Constante who was solid with a 6 IP, 3 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, and 5 K kinda night.  Michael "Sully" Sullivan, Jeremy "Evil" Kivel, Manny Aybar, and Juan Martinez all pitched 2 innings or more.  They also had a boatload of strikeouts.  Zack "Attack" Shields was 3 for 6 with 2 doubles, a walk, and a RBI.  Shane "Can't Spell Name" Mardirosian was 4 for 5 with a double, walk, and a RBI, and Jose "Farte" Duarte was 3 for 4 with a 2 RBI and a walk.

Jose Lopez pitches tonight at 7:30 PM EST.
