Farmers Only: James Vasquez plays the hero

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 9, Louisville 1

It was a rough night for Bats starter Josh Smith. After getting the first out of the game he gave up a HBP, single, single, and walk. All of this was followed by a Chris "Chicken" Parmelee grand slam. Smith gave up another run in the second, and the Bats replaced him with Layne Somsen "that I used to know" to start the third. Smith's line looked a little like this: 2 IP, 6 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 1 SO. Samson gave up two on a 4th inning homer to Nick Swisher. Stephen "Johnson and" Johnson gave up Parmelee's second homer of the night in the 5th. Dayan "and day out" Diaz and Chad "Mr." Rogers did pitch scoreless innings.

On offense the Bats only mustered one run and four hits. Seth Mejias- "where you" Brean had the lone RBI on the night. Hernan Iribarren, Steve "Alka" Selsky, and Juan Perez contributed the other hits.

Louisville will look to get back on track tomorrow at home against Columbus. Jon Moscot will get the start at 7:05PM.

Pensacola, Jacksonville - Postponed

The Blue Wahoos will make up yesterday's game in Jacksonville tonight as part of a double header. Sal Romano gets the ball in game one at 5:05PM, and Jackson Stephens will start game two.

Charlotte 3, Daytona 2 (13 Innings)

Daytona got on the board first in this one with back to back doubles from Ty Washington and Avain Rachal. The Tortugas scored their only other run of the game in the 3rd when Ronald Bueno connected for a solo shot. Ismael Guillon got the start for Daytona, and he pitched well through five innings of work. In the bottom of the 5th Guillon surrendered a two run shot to Riley Unroe. The game stayed dead locked at 2-2 until the 13th.

In between the 5th and the 13th Daytona got scoreless relief work from Alex Powers, Greg Williams, Evan Mitchell, and Nolan Becker. In the 13th Brennan "San" Bernadino surrendered the winning run on a walk, a sacrifice bunt, a single, and another sac bunt.

Daytona is at home tomorrow against St. Lucie. Tyler "Mahle" Mahle makes the start at 7:05PM.

Dayton 2, Lake County 1

The Dragons got a great start from Franderlin "wherefore art thou" Romero. He went six innings and only surrendered two hits. Lake County did score one run off of him, but it was unearned when Ka'ai Tom scored on a fielding error by Gain LaValley. Unfortunately for Romero the Dragons struggled to score and Lake County took a 1-0 lead into the 8th.

In the 8th the Dragons finally got something going against Lake County reliever Brock Hartson. Gavin LaValley led off the inning with a double. Tyler Stephenson struck out for the first out of the inning, but James "likes to put together IKEA furniture" Vasquez* homered to give the Dragons the lead. Hector Vargas also contributed two hits. Jesus Reyes pitched three scoreless innings in relief for Dayton.

Tanner Rainey takes the mound for Dayton at home against Bowling Green at 7:00PM.
