After two straight games of getting it handed to them by the Cleveland Indians, the Ohio Cup heads south as the Reds look to bounce back. They will turn to Brandon Finnegan, who struggled with his command the last time out, as he only lasted 4.0 innings and walked 5 batters in a loss to the Phillies. He will be facing off against Mike Clevinger, who makes his MLB debut this evening. In 7 starts with AAA-Columbus, Clevenger has a 5-0 record with a 3.03 ERA. He has only 17 walks to 36 strikeouts and sports a solid 9.1 K/9. He has a fastball that sits 92-95 and throws a slider, curveball, and changeup to supplement that. He also led the Indians organization in strikeouts last season.
Hopefully the Reds can keep this one under double-digits tonight. Go Reds, they're our favorite team!
