Louisville Bats 3, Toledo Mud Hens 4

Cody Reed took the bump in this one and didn't have one of his finest showings. He allowed only 2 earned runs, though 4 were posted through his 4 innings pitched. He walked 2 and struck out 2 while allowing 6 hits. Tim "Herman" Melville picked up 0.2 innings in relief, allowing only 1 hit and 2 walks. Chad "Shark Bait" Rogers cleaned up 2.1 IP with 4 strikeouts, while "Former Reds Closer" JJ Hoover pitched a clean inning with a strike out. The Bats offense dropped in 12 hits but could only manage 3 runs. Hernan "The Barbarian" Iribarren continued his hot streak, whacking a double. He now has a 1.015 OPS through 33 ABs this season. Jermaine "Dupree" Curtis "Jackson" smacked 2 hits and collected an RBI, Kyle Waldrop had 2 hits including a double and Juan Perez had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.

Uncle Jesse was 0-4 and Jose Peraza had the night off.

Up Next: The dreaded TBD will pitch tonight for the Bats against the Columbus Clippers at 7:15pm EDT.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 5, Chattanooga Lookouts 4

Nasty Nick Travieso got the start, pitching 5.1 IP with 5 hits, 3 earned and 3 walks to go with 5 strikeouts. Double Barrett Astin got 2.2 innings of work, allowing only a hit and a walk with 2 strikeouts. Matt Magill worked the final inning, picking up the save but allowing a run in the process. The Wahoos were powered by the big bat of The Knockwurst Donald Lutz, who had 2 hits and 3 RBI on the evening. Brandon Dixon chipped in with 2 hits (one a double) and a run scored. Eric "2 Dope" Jagielo chipped in with a hit, while Alex "The Great" Blandino walked twice and scored a run.

Up Next: Amir Garrett will attempt to keep the gravy train rolling in Chattanooga tonight at 7:15pm EDT.

Brevard County Manatees 2, Daytona Tortugas 0

Seth Varner got the start in this one and did well enough, scattering 5 hits over 5 innings, allowing only a run and striking out 3. Nick Howard took over 0.2 innings, allowing a hit and an unearned run with a strikeout. Alex "The People's Champion" Powers cleaned up 1.1 IP allowing nothing with a strikeout, while El'Hajj and Jacob "Record Skip" Ehret cleaned up the last 2 innings, allowing nothing with a strikeout a piece. The Dragonas could only manage 4 hits, unfortunately, all by 4 different players. Blake Trahan, Aristides Aquino, Chap "Womp" Tromp, and Blake "Blame It On The" Butler scattered a hit a piece. It wasn't enough.

Up Next: Daytona will play two with Lakeland tomorrow. MILB.com doesn't know who's starting where, so stay tuned.

Great Lakes Loons 5, Dayton Dragons 2

Franderlin Romero took the ball for a 6 inning start, striking out 5 and allowing only 1 earned run with 7 hits. Jake Johnson shit in the pancakes, however, allowing 3 earned in his 1 inning. "Don" Juan Martinez walked 2 and allowed a hit in his 2 innings of work, but no other damage. James Vasquez was the man for the Dragons, hitting a home run and a double on his 2 hit night. Reydel "Funky Cold" Medina doubled as part of 2 hits as well, while Tyler "TySteve" Stephenson had a hit and a run scored.

Up Next: Tanner Rainey will take the mound against the Loons, looking to lower his 6.75 ERA on the season. They'll do work at 7:00pm EDT.
