Josh "Boring Name" Smith continues to pitch pretty effectively in AAA.  Smith would pitch 6 innings of shutout baseball.  He gave up 4 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts.  Ryan Mattheus and Steve "Delawhat?" Delabar finished the game to keep the shutout.  Mattheus struck out two in two innings pitched and Delabar secured the save.  That Bats only had three hits in this one, but the clutch RBI single was made by Carlos Truinfel.  One point of interest in this one is that Jesse Winker was ejected.  Winker was given an automatic strike in the 6th inning for not getting in the box in time.  I guess he wasn't very happy and was tossed.  I've never seen that one before.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, Biloxi Shuckers 5

Amir "Ball Is Life" Garrett continues to pitch well in AA, and I'm totally ok with that.  Garrett pitched 6 innings of 3 run, 2 earned run, ball.  He gave up 6 hits, a walk, and struck out 5.  Barrett Astin just didn't do his job keeping more runs off the board.  Beau Amaral had the two RBI on a 1 for 4 night with a triple.  Pretty boring game other than Garrett's start.

Daytona Tortugas 4, Fort Myers Miracle 1

Tyler "Poppin'" Mahle wasn't joking around in this one.  Mahle pitched 7 innings of 1 run baseball.  He 3 hits, 0 walks, and struck out 9 batters.  Heck yeah.  That's freaking awesome. Nick "Can't Hit A Barn" Howard and Jimmy "Sherbert" Hergert (2 K's) each pitched a scoreless inning. Angelo "Bleeding" Gumbs "Murphy" continued hitting the hot bat with a 2 for 3 night with a RBI and a walk.  One of them hits was a triple.  Aristides Aquino and Taylor "Swift" Sparks both had multi-hit nights.

Keury Mella will pitch tonight at 7:00 PM EST.

Dayton Dragons 1, Great Lake Loons 4

Jacob Constante pitched pretty consistently by only giving up 2 earned runs in 4.2 innings.  He did so while scattering six hits, 2 walks, and striking out 7.  Manny Aybar pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings while striking out 4.  Ed "Do The" Charlton hit a solo dinger, and Luis "Yankee Killer" Gonzalez was 2 for 4 with a double.
