Louisville 1, Columbus 5
After a four day hiatus, Louisville was finally able to play baseball. Jon Moscot made his second rehab start, his first in AAA, and started off well. After giving up only one run through 4 innings, he ran into trouble in the 5th where he would surrender four runs on four hits. He'd finish the evening going 5.2 innings, giving up 5 ER on 6 hits, no walks, and 6 strikeouts. Kyle "NASCAR" Waldrop was the only Bat with more than one hit, going 2 for 4 on the evening. Jose "Keith Law Hates" Peraza was 1 for 4 with a triple and was the only Bat to cross the plate tonight. Steve "Salazar Slytherin" Selsky was also 1 for 4 and with a double for the only other XBH tonight. The bullpen did the anti-Reds, with Dayan "The Other" Diaz and Pedro Villarreal combining for 2.1 scoreless innings.
Louisville will play two tonight to make up for lost time, with Cody Reed making his AAA debut in game 1 at 11:35 AM EST, and Josh Smith pitching in game 2.
Pensacola 4, Jacksonville 3
The Blue Wahoos improved to 5-1 on the season and avoided the organizational sweep with a 4-3 win over the Jacksonville Suns. Nick Travieso made his second start of the season, going 4.2 innings and giving up 2 runs on 5 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Beau Amaral "Ackbar" went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored, and trapped the Suns early on with a lead-off dinger in the first, Eric "Deuce Bigalow Male" Jagielo continued his hot hitting with a 1 for 4 night, and our old Knockwurstin' friend Donald Lutz went 2 for 3, getting his first 2 knocks in a season that couldn't have started wurst. Kyle "Won't You Be" McMyne pitched a scoreless inning in relief, earning his second save of the season.
The Wahoos look to continue their early-season success tonight, with Amir Garrett pitching against the Suns at 6:30 PM CT.
Daytona 2, Palm Beach 4
The Daytona Tortugas fell to 3-3 on the season, losing a close one to Palm Beach last night. "His Name Is" Jake Paulson was roughed up, allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, in 3.2 IP with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Angelo Gumbs, who's name is Angelo Gumbs, was 2 for 3 with a walk, Blake "Country Breakfast" Butler was 1-4 with the only RBI for the Turtles, and Garrett "Tupper" Boulware, who has probably had better nights, had his first golden sombrero of the season. The bullpen was lights-out, with Seth Varner "Bros", "Rocket" Ismael Guillon, and Jimmy "Don't Let" Herget "Away" combining for 5.1 scoreless innings.
Tyler Mahle gets the ball tonight against Palm Beach at 6:30 PM EST.
Dayton 2, Lansing 5
Dayton struggled to get anything going in a 4-2 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts last night. In fact, the Dragons probably wouldn't have scored at all if not for five errors by their counterparts. Mitch Piatnik "At The Disco" was responsible for the Dragons' only two hits with a 2 for 4 night at the plate, Narcisso "You're a" Crook "Captain Hook" took a break from his maritime law practices to walk twice, and, well, that's about it for the offense. Everyone else pretty much sucked. Tanner "Singin' In The" Rainey had a rough go of it, giving up 5 earned runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 4.1 IP.
Jacob Constante takes the mound tomorrow for the Dragons at 12:05 PM EST.
