Reds - Cardinals final score: Reds fall flat as a day-old Sprite

If the Reds season ends and nobody sees it, does it even matter?

The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Honorary Star of the Game

Joey Votto is good. Nothing else seems to be working, though.

Key Plays

Pitches were thrown, balls were hit, bases were rounded. The Cardinals put up ten runs and the Reds got just two.

Other Notes

  • Joey Votto hit a solo home run in the seventh inning, his 29th of the year. He has a good shot at reaching the nice fat round number of 30, which he hasn't done since he won the MVP. This guy is really, really good.
  • Ivan De Jesus Jr (hi, muffins!) came in late in the game and roped a nice triple down the line. It's safe to say that, barring injury or something, he has a spot on the bench locked down for next year. I like him.
  • Joey Votto hit a home run. I know I've said it already, but I want to make sure this gets to 150 words.
