Farmers Only: Cody Reed Chews 'Em Up And Spits 'Em Out.

He's kind of awesome and all that jazz.

Louisville 1, Toledo 2

Not much has been going right for the Bat lately, and last night was no different.  However, Joel "Kiss My Shiny Ass" Bender is stretching himself out a bit after being primarily a relief pitcher in his career.  He pitched 4 innings giving up 2 hits, 0 ER, 1 BB, and 5 K.  Krisopher Negron was 2 for 4, and Sean "Coach's Kid" Buckley was 1 for 3 with a walk.

Big Bob Stephenson takes the mound tonight at 6:30 PM EST.

Pensacola 1, Jackson 0

Cody Reed seems like the type of guy that chews up glass and smiles at you while he does it.  Well, no, he's probably really smart and doesn't do that because his gums would hurt.  Regardless, he pitched another stellar game since being traded for Johnny Cueto.  Reed pitched 8 innings and gave up 4 hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 8 K.  Hell freakin' yeah.  Zack Weiss picked up his 25th save and struck out the side for the bajillionith time this year or something like that.  Seth Mejias-Band was 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI.  Jesse Winker Votto'd twice in the game, but was 0 for 2.

TBD starts tonight at 7:05 PM CT.

They're building an ark in Daytona because it won't quit raining.  Russell Crowe is currently on site.

Dayton 5, Lake County 9

Gross. Dayton could really use a Cody Reed on their team.  That guy is the cat's pajamas.  Welp, Wyatt "Derp" Strahan started the game and wasn't as sharp as usual (5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6 K).  The bullpen didn't help much either.  Shedric Long hit a solo ding dong, and Narciso "He's Not A" Crook hit two dingle dangles and had 4, count 'em 4, Rib Eye Steaks.  Oh, he also walked because why the heck not?

Teehee Jay Antone pitches tonight at 7:00 PM EST

Billings Mustangs 7, Helena 6

The pitching was quite poor in this game, and it looked to be a bullpen special.  Uhm, Jake "Jingleheimer" Johnson is the only one I'll talk about.  He pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.  Hector Vargas did a bang  up job as the lead off man with 3 for 5 night with a double and 2 RBI.  Jonathon "Soft J" Martijn was 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 2 doubles.  That's fantastic!
