The Bats managed to push 3 runs across against the once highly touted Matt Moore, which is admirable and all I guess, but still got trampled by the Durham Bulls. "Not So Cool Papa" Donn Roach got rocked for 7 runs on 9 hits and a walk in 4.1 innings while striking out 3 batters. Layne Somsen came on to mop things up, striking out 5 and walking none in 2.2 innings while giving up a run. Ryan "Hedy" LaMarre drove in 2 of the 3 Bats' runs, going 1-3 with a 2-run wanger and a walk.
Tony Cingrani returns to the mound for the Bats tonight at 7:05.
Pensacola had the night off.
Daniel Wright gets the start for the Wahoos at 7:35 tonight.
In what was scheduled to be a doubleheader, the Tortugas managed to only get in one game before the rain started up again and banged the second half of the twin billing. Apparently all it ever does in Daytona is rain. Anyway, the Tortugas struggled through the 7-inning contest, managing just 4 hits (all singles) and no walks on the day. Jackson Stephens didn't have his best stuff, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits in 5.2 innings.
Seth Varner looks to get the Tortugas back on track tonight at 6:35.
Dayton had the night off.
Junior "Mint" Morillo faces off against the Cubs in South Bend tonight at 7:05.
Bad pitching all around doomed the Mustangs in this back and forth affair, as the Mustangs lost despite being gifted 5 errors. After an iffy start from Franderlyn Romero, who gave up 3 runs in 4 innings, Soid Marquez gave up a pair of runs in 3 innings. Tyler Parmenter came on in the bottom of the 8th and was yanked after allowing 4 runs and not recording an out. Jonathan "Damn Gina" Martjin went 1-3 with a 2-run dinger and a walk, which was really the only offensive performance of note for the Mustangs.
Tanner "I Hardly Knew Her" Rainey faces the Chukars tonight at 9:15.
Arizona had the night off.
They face the Cubs tonight at 10:00.
