Farmers Only: Wyatt Strahan Rides off Into the Sunset

The good, the bad, and the ugly of the Reds' farm system.

Louisville lost, getting shut out 3-0 at the hands of the Indianapolis Indians.  Matt Buschmann struggled with his command, walking 5 batters and allowing 2 runs in 5.2 innings while striking out 4 batters.  Kris Negron had the only multi-hit game, going 2-4 with a double.  Kyle Waldrop went 1-3 with a double and a walk.  Tony Spaghetti makes another rehab appearance tonight at 7:05.

Pensacola split a doubleheader against Mobile.  In the first game, the Wahoos beat the Bay Bears 8-6 in 7 innings.  Wandy Peralta had a rough start, giving up all 6 runs in 4.2 innings, striking out 5 and walking 1.  The Wahoos had a big 5th inning, scoring 6 runs with Ray Chang driving in 3 runs on a bases loaded double.  Marquez Smith went 2-3 with a triple and a walk.

Mobile hit a walk-off dinger in the bottom of the 9th to take the second game 5-3.  Jacob "Jingleheimer" Johnson gave up 3 earned runs in 5.1 innings on 6 hits, while walking none and striking out 1.  Juan Duran Duran went 2-2 with a double and an RBI.  Marquez Smith went 3-4 with 3 singles.  Daniel Wright gets the start tonight at 8:05.

Daytona fell victim to bad bullpenning, losing 7-6 to the Tampa Yankees.  Nick Routt got the start and gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits and no walks, while striking out 4.  Nolan "Danson" Becker gave up the 6-4 lead the Tortugas held in the 8th, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits and a walk without recording an out.  Phil Ervin went 1-4 with a double and an RBI.  Ronnie "Be" Bueno drove in a pair of runs on a 1-4 night.  Jackson Stephens will climb the hill tonight at 7:00.

Dayton spoiled some solid starting pitching, falling 1-0 to Bowling Green.  Wyatt Strahan went 7 strong, allowing just 1 run on 8 hits and a walk, while striking out 5 batters.  Last year's 3rd Round Pick is quietly putting together a pretty solid season, sporting a 2.88 ERA with a 7.1 K/9 through 97 innings.  Gavin LaValley went 1-2 with a pair of walks, and Argenis "The Mask of" Aldazoro went 2-3 with a double and a walk. Tejay Antone starts against the Hot Rods today at 1:05.

Billings had the night off.  Jacob Constante "Gardener" faces off against the Owlz in Orem tonight at 9:00.

The AZL Reds dropped their game 4-2 to the D-Backs.  Mason Felt made his 3rd appearance of the season, tossing a scoreless inning with a hit, a walk, and 2 strikeouts.  Leandro Santana went 2-3 with 2 doubles.  Arizona has the day off today.
