Reds call up Yorman Rodriguez, option Josh Smith

The Reds have called up Yorman Rodriguez to add to their burgeoning OF situation, and they've opted to send Josh Smith back to Pensacola after his two starts in a corresponding move. Yorman will join Marlon Byrd, Billy Hamilton, Jay Bruce, Jason Bourgeois, Ivan De Jesus, Jr., and Skip Schumaker as current 25 man roster members who have spent time in the Cincinnati OF so far in 2015, which is somewhat questionable since there's no denying the still 22 year old Rodriguez needs to be playing quite often to continue his development. Yorman hit .321 in the month of June for AAA Louisville, and the 9 homers and 40 runs batted in he's compiled already in 2015 match his entire total from 2014. He's hit .272/.310/.432 to date in the minors in 2015, and he's capable of playing all three OF positions, so there's a decent chance he'll get rotated through often enough to get regular PAs, which is something that's a must since he's out of options after this season.
