Farmers Only: Good Starting Pitching Is Good

Hello, Captain Obvious.

Louisville had their game with Columbus suspended last night.  They were losing 1-0.  The game will resume tonight as part of a Friday double header.

Pensacola staved off a late rally by Jacksonville and won, 2-1.  Daniel "Wilbur" Wright was stellar in his start (7 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K).  Patrick Schuster "I Hardly Knew Her" pitched a scoreless inning in relief.  The Wahoos 2 runs were scored when Seth Mejias Band hit a 2 run wanger.  Overall, he was 2 for 3 on the night.  Adelman starts tonight at 6:35 pm CST.

Daytona also tasted sweet victory tonight with a 2-0 win over Lakeland.  Jackson Stephens didn't miss many bats, but he recorded a nifty start (6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 K.  Evan Mitchell and El'Hajjy Muhammad had scoreless appearances out of the pen.  Taylor "Swift" Sparks drove in the Tortuga's 2 runs on a 2 for 4 night with a triple.  Amir Garrett starts tonight at 6:35 pm EST.

Dayton came out on the losing end of their affair with the Tin Caps, 6-2. Tejay "Teehee" Antone had a very good start and kept the Dragons in the game (7 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K).  He now has a 2.45 ERA on the season.  The bullpen stunk it up for the final 2 innings.  Avain Rachal, Luis Gonzalez, and Jose Ortiz all has 2 hit games.  Gavin "Deep In" LaValley had a RBI double.  Junior Morillo pitches tonight at 7:00 pm EST.

Billings and Helena finally played a normal game of baseball, and the Mustangs won, 4-3.  Tanner Rainey put in a good effort in his start (4.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 5 K).  Actually, not one Mustang pitcher allowed an earned run.  The defense gave up 2 errors. Zack Shields, Blake Trahan, and Hector Vargas all had 2 hit games.  Jose Lopez starts tonight at 7:05 pm MST.

The Arizona Reds had the night off, but they play tonight at some point in time.
