The Louisville Bats busted up the Charlotte Knights on Tuesday by the score of 3-1, but the story in this one was yet another dominant outing from Robert Stephenson. Bob Steve needed just 85 pitches during his 8 innings of shutout ball, and he yielded just 3 hits and a walk (which led off the game) while K-ing 10 Knights in the process. Josh "Hail" Satin chipped in with 2 hits and 2 ribbies, Juan "Hi-Ho" Silva walked twice, singled, and stole a base, and Kyle "All Just Bricks in the" Waldrop had a single.
The Bats' website currently has no idea who will be starting on Wednesday at 7:05 PM at Slugger Field, but they'll be facing the Knights and Hector Noesi.
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos gave up a 7 spot in the 4th inning to the Chattanooga Lookouts en route to an 8-3 loss last night, and it was starter Daniel Wright (3.2 IP, 6 ER) who got shelled the most. Juan Duran was hungry like a wolf, and he blasted 2 doubles, drove in 2, and scored once, and the Seth Matthews Band also doubled as part of a 2 hit, 2 ribbie evening. Uncle Jesse Winker went 0 for 3 with a walk, which isn't funny enough for a funny here.
Tim Adleman will take the mound for the 'hoos against Chattanooga on Wednesday in, well, Chattanooga.
The Daytona Dragonas Tortugas also took one on the chin on Tuesday as the St. Lucie Mets bonked them by the score of 8-4. "Everybody Loves Hitting" Sal Romano was smacked around for 9 hits and 5 ER in his 5.1 IP, and Ally Alejandro Ally Alejandro Chacin gave up a 2 spot in his single inning of relief as well, and the bats couldn't quite make up the deficit. Alex "Luther" Blandino continued his hot-hitting since returning to the lineup with a double and run scored, but it was Taylor Sparks who bubba'd the biggest on the evening, as the error-prone 3B went 3 for 4 with a dinger and a double.
Daytona's already taking on St. Lucie today. Good for them. Stupid Eastern Time Zone.
The Dayton Dragons joined in on the losing fun, as they dropped a 6-5 contest to the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Wyatt Strahan labored through 4 IP, allowing 3 ER in the process, but Ty "Fartman" Sterner's 3 ER in relief proved to be the deciding runs. Argenis "Alan" Aldazoro swung the big bat for the Dragons, going 3 for 4 with a double, but most of the runs Daytona got on the evening came courtesy of 4 TinCaps errors. "Amir" Garrett Boulware did chip in with a 2 hit evening, however.
Teejay Antone will take the mound against Fort Wayne on Wednesday evening.
Billings got blanked on Tuesday, as the Mustangs dropped a 3-0 clunker to the Great Falls Voyagers. Tyler "Up" Stephenson walked twice, Kevin Garcia had 2 singles, and that was it as the offense effectively spoiled a solid 7.2 inning, 2 ER, 0 BB, 7 K outing from "Tie Me Up With Some of Your Ties" Ty Boyles.
Franderlin Romero will take on Great Falls for the Mustangs on Wednesday.
The AZL Reds had Tuesday off, but they'll face the AZL Mariners on Wednesday at 10 PM ET.
