Louisville Bats 7, Columbus Clippers 4
The Bats clipped the Columbus Clippers 7-4 on a good start from David "Holmslice" Holmberg and a great 2nd inning. My Holmey went 6 IP with 7 hits, 1 earned run, 4 strike outs and not a walk to limit the Clips. Donovan "Invisible" Hand also threw 2 IP of 0 ball, though Jacob "Jack" Johnson tried to give it all away in the 9th, allowing 3 earned on 3 hits. Woof. Everyone had at least one hit for the Bats, except for Kyle Waldrop, which is kinda dumb because he's probably the only legit "prospect" that played today. Ryan LaMarre had 2 hits and an RBI, so that's cool, and Brennan "Oh Yeah, I Wish That Would've Worked" Boesch also had 2 RBIs. Go Bats, you're my favorite AAA team!
Up Next: Louisville will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Natives. Keyvius Sampson will take the hill and look to not be bad. We'll see. Maybe I should go.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, Biloxi Shuckers 1
Daniel "Not Ryan" Wright tried to shuck the Shuckers all by himself, going 8 IP with 1 ER on 4 hits and 5 strike outs. Miguel Celestino locked down the save. Bryson Smith and Don Juan Duran provided all the scoring for the Wahoos, but Zack "Soft.. Hard.. Why is there a J???" Vincej chipped in with 2 hits as well. Jesse Winker did not make an appearance in this game. Jesse is officially on #HugWatch.
Up Next: Timmy Jim Adleman will go against Biloxi at 6:35pm CDT.
Daytona Tortugas 3, Charlotte Stone Crabs 2
The Dragonas stoned the Stone Crabs, with Seth Verner going 5.2 with 1 ER and 5 strike outs. Scott Brattvet, Nolan Becker, Carlos "Not That One' Gonzalez, and Alejandro "Don't Call My Name" Chacin combined to allow nothing else to finish out the game. Chad Wallach collected 2 hits for the baby turtles, as Daniel "Open Minded" Pigott and Taylor "Bubba" Sparks batted in some runs. Carlton "Banks" Daal was responsible the other run, but he walked it in. Not elite an elite way to score, in my opinion.
Up Next: General Jackson Stephens will lead the troops against Charlotte at 7:00pm EDT.
Dayton Dragons 2, West Michigan White Caps 1
The Dragons walked off on the White Caps in extras, finally winning it in the 13th. Tejay Antone spun the gem for the Dragons, tossing 8.2 innings of 4 hit, 1 run baseball with 8 strike outs. Jeremy "Jimmy" Kivel worked 1 scoreless inning of relief, and Ty "Beanie Baby" Stemer picked up the W with 3.1 innings of 1 hit, 4 strike out baseball. That'll do, Dayton pitchers. That'll do just fine. The offense was quiet, but got it done when was needed. Paul Kronenfield and Narcisco "Nasty" Crook both had 2 hits on the evening and the Dragons only RBIs, the latter of who knocked the single to score Avain Rachal to win the game.
Up Next: Junior "Griffey" Morillo will toss 'em against Lansing at 7:05pm EDT.
Billings Mustangs 1, Great Falls Voyagers 9
The night didn't go as planned for the Mustangs, as they got walloped in the Great Falls. Franderlyn "Mandolin" Romero pitched 4 innings of 5 hit, 5 run (2 earned) ball, striking out and walking 3. Carlos "Macho" Machorro went 3 innings of scoreless baseball, but Jimmy Herget got hurt, only getting two outs while allowing 4 runs. Of note on the offensive side: 2015 first round pick Tyler "TySteve" Stephenson was 3-4 with a double. Kevin Franklin and Jonathojn Martijn both got a jit and a jalk. (Seriously what's with the random Js in the Reds farm system?)
Up Next: Jacob Constante will hurl baseballs against Helena at 7:05pm mountain time. Wooo mountain time baseball.
The AZL Little Reds were, apparently, off. They will play tonight against the Little Natives of Cleveland.
