Farmers Only Weekend Harvest: Cingrani Shines

Pensacola, Daytona, and Dayton have good weekends.

Louisville Bats

Friday, the Bats fell to the Scranton Stranglers, 4-1. Tony "Sin City" Cingrani started the game and pitched very well (5 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K).  Sam LeCure pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief.  The offense had 8 hits but only scraped together one run.  Jermaine "Lee" Curtis was 2 for 4 with the lone RBI.  Yorman "Ourman" Rodriguez also had 2 hits in the game.

Saturday, the Bats got a little revenge with a 6-3 win.  David "Mongo" Holmberg put together a good start (7 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K).  All his runs earned game on one mighty homer.  Jose De La "Come And I Wanna Go Home" Torre pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts.  Ryan "LaMoney" LaMarre had the big game.  He went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 run scored, a solo dinger, and 2 RBI.

Sunday, Louisville was lost, 7-1. Keyvius "Lay Down Your Hair" Sampson was roughed up (2.1 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 1 K).  Carlos "Mary Mary Quite" Contreras and Collin "Slide Down The" Balester has scoreless appearances out of the pen.  Brennan Boesch and Ramon "Capybara" Cabrera were both had 2 hit games.  Cabrera also had the lone RBI in the 9th inning and a walk.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos

Friday, the Wahoos started off their weekend with a 6-5 victory over the Braves.  Wandy Peralta didn't have a nice night (5 IP, 8, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K).  However, his bullpen picked him up.  Patrick "Star" Schuster and Miguel "Celestial" Celestino both pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts.  Seth Mejias Band, Sean Buckley, and Marquez Smith all had 2 hit games.

Saturday, Pensacola was victorious again with a 3-1 victory.  Daniel Wright got the start and was fantastic (8 IP, 9 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K).  Zack Weiss closed out the final inning without giving up a run and striking out a batter. Uncle Jesse Winker and Marquez "Old Man" Smith both hit solo dingers.

Sunday was a rough day for the Wahoos of the Blue, losing 11-3.  Timothy Adleman gave up 6 earned runs in 5.1 IP with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.  Jacob "Jingleheimer" Johnson was the only pitcher not to give up a run.  Kyle Skipworth hit another home run, a solo shot in the 7th.

Daytona Tortugas

Friday, the Tortugas had their game banged because of rain.  So, they played two on Saturday.

Game 1, Daytona beat the Jupiter Jockettys 2-0.  General Jackson Stephens took the start and went 5 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, and 5 K.  Joel "Shiny Ass" Bender and El'Hajj Muhammad finished out the shutout. Sebastian Elizalde was 2 for 3 with a double and Ronald "Muy" Bueno was 2 for 3.

Game 2, Daytona was on the butt hole side of a shutout, 6-0.  Seth Varner put the Turtles in a hole they couldn't crawl out of (5 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 5 K).  Ronald "Bullshit" Bueno was 2 for 2.

Sunday, Daytona climbed back on the winning horse with a 5-2 victory of Dunedin.  Jonathon "Crawfish" Crawford had what is I think his first start outside of Arizona.  It didn't go that well (2.1 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, and 4 K). Scott "Brat Pack" Brattvet pitched 3 scoreless inning in relief with 3 K, and Nolan Becker pitched 1.2 scoreless innings with 3 K.

Dayton Dragons

Friday, Dayton was in West Michigan and lost, 4-1.  Wyatt Strahan has had better days (6 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K). Jacob "Alister" Moody pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief.  Jose Ortiz had the lone RBI on a 1 for 3 night, and was promptly released the next day.  Sad face.

Saturday, the Dragons traveled to Ft. Waye and won, 8-2.  Tejay "Tee Hee Jay" Antone pitched very well against the Tin Caps (7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, and 4 K).  The game ended early cause it was rainin'.  Avain "Beats The Rain" Rachal had the big game with a 3 for 4 night with 3 runs scored, 2 doubles, and a RBI. Jonathan Reynoso was also 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.

Sunday, the Dragons were victorious once again with a 5-4 win.  Junior Morillo started the game and gave Dayton what they needed (6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2, 3 K).  Jacob "Skip Disc" Ehret threw 2 scoreless innings.  Shedric "Dong" Long was 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored, a double, triple, 2 walks, and a RBI.  Pretty good day.  Gavin "Deep In" LaValley was 3 for 4 with a double, run scored, and a RBI.

Tyler Mahle starts tonight at 7:00 pm EST.

Billings Mustangs

Friday, the Mustangs played a double header.

Game 1, the Mustangs lost in 10 innings by a score of 7-2.  Ty "Poppin" Boyles put together a good start (7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K).  Jimmy "Lee" Herget had a scoreless appearance. Reydel Medina hit a solo dinger, and Shane "Marzipan" Mardirosian had 2 hit games.

Game 2, the 'Stangs lost again, 6-4.  Chef Jordan Ramsey didn't have a good start at all (0.2 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 1 K). Solid Soid Marquez pitched 3.2 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. Tyler "Parameter" Parmenter pitched a scoreless inning.  Brantley "Ring My" Bell was 2 for 4 with a double, triple, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Kevin Garcia was also 2 for 3 with a walk and a RBI.

Saturday, Billings welcomed Grand Junction and let them win, 6-2.  Franderlyn "That's Not a Name" Romero started and was solid (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K). Jake "Nick Miller" Johnson pitched 2 scoreless innings. Ed "Helms" Charlton was 3 for 4 with a solo homer. Brantley Bell and Shane Mardirosian both had 2 hit games.

Sunday, it took a ton of runs, but Billings finally won, 10-9.  Most everyone pitched poorly, but Jimmy Herget pitched a scoreless inning.  Brantley Bell went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and Dalton "Coach" Carter was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI.  Bunch of other guys did things too.

Arizona Reds

Friday, the Baby Reds played the Baby Angels and lost, 5-4.  Wendolyn Bautista pitched 4.2 innings of 1 earned run ball.  He struck out 4 and walked 1.  Alexis Diaz also pitched a scoreless inning in relief.  James Vasquez was 4 for 5 with a double, solo dinger, and 3 RBI.  Blake Butler was 3 for 4 with a triple and a run scored.

They were still playing when I wrote this article last night and losing 3-0.  Here is the box score. I may update tomorrow if I have time.
