In a surprising move, the Reds have announced that Jon Moscot will take Raisel Iglesias' spot for tonight's game against the Padres.
RHP Jon Moscot (#46) will start for the Reds tonight instead of RHP Raisel Iglesias. Moscot will be making his Major League debut.— #VoteReds (@Reds) June 5, 2015
Moscot was 7-1 with a 3.15 ERA in Louisville this year, and has been rumored to be getting his shot soon, so it's not a total shock that he's getting the call. I think he was always next in line, but it's surprising that it's coming so soon, and at the expense of having Iglesias in the rotation.
We'll keep updating as we hear more, as the corresponding roster move hasn't been announced yet. If it isn't Jason Marquis being shipped out, I'll eat 9 scoops of UDF ice cream and 2 racks of Montgomery Inn ribs.
UPDATE: Iglesias to the DL, Villarreal and Moscot up, Marquis DFA. Bummer about all but one of those things.
