Farmers Only: Bats bat, Wahoos don't, but the Turtles win, too

The Bats were as successful as the Wahoos were not. But the Tortugas won by 1.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

GAME 1: Louisville 8, Syracuse 5

Louisville spent the evening in upstate New York to not only play the scheduled game, but to also make up the game that was rained out last night. In game one, however, they got to play a little more baseball than they bargained for, having to go the full 9 after the game was tied at 5 when 7 innings was through. True story: I just found out that minor league doubleheaders only go 7 innings like, 2 weeks ago.

ANYWAY Dylan Axelrod was solidly okay, going 5 innings giving up 4 hits, 2 earned runs, walking 2 and striking out 2. Jose De La "Rocco" Torre allowed 2 hits but nothing else in his 1 inning of relief, but Nate Adcock was Badcock in his inning, allowing 3 earned in 1 inning. Our favorite minor leaguer Sam LeCure went 2 full, getting the win while serving up only 1 hit and none earned (though he did allow 3 walks).

Eugenio Suarez went 2-5 with a 1 run EU-HAY blast. Jose "Jorge" Constanza was 2-4 with an RBI, Ivan "One True" De Jesus was 1-4 with 2 RBI and a walk, and Irving "Coo-Coo-Cachoo" Falu was 0-2 with 3 walks and an walk-BI.
Up Next: Oh wait... right now

GAME 2: Louisville 6, Syracuse 1

The Bats earned the sweep in game number 2. Donovan "Invisible" Hand only went 3 good innings, striking out 4 and walking only 1. Hernan Iribarren went 2-4 with a double and an RBI, Chris Dominguez also went 2-4 with a double, and Yorman Rodriguez went 2-2 with a walk, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Irving Falu went 1-3 with an RBI and a walk.
Up Next: The Bats will face off against Syracuse again at 10:35am EDT. Josh Smith will get the call.

GAME 1: Pensacola 5, Mobile 6

Pensacola also had a doubleheader to play after being rained out last night, and they were felled in the first game by 1 run. After putting up zeros through the first 5 frames, the Wahoos tried to climb back into the thing in the 6th, scoring all 5 of their runs. It wasn't to be, however.

Wandy "Not Rodriguez nor Jhonny" Peralta was a pile of yuck in 3 innings, giving up all 6 earned striking out only 2 and walking 2. The Wahoos only managed 6 hits on the evening. Uncle Jesse Winker didn't have mercy on them, garnering one of those hits, knocking in 2 runs. Kyle Waldrop went 1-3 with a triple, an RBI and a walk, while Seth Mejias "Green" Brean went 0-1 with 3 walks.
Up Next: Damnit...

GAME 2: Pensacola 1, Mobile 2

In the second game, the Wahoos got walked off on to get swept by a grand total of 2 runs. Keyvius Sampson continues to be nails, posting a line of 5.2 IP, 4 hits, 1 earned, 1 walk and 7 Ks. Seth Mejias-Brean was 1-2 with an RBI and a walk, while Kyle Waldrop was was 1-3 with a double and a run scored. No one else did anything.
Up Next: The Wahoos will take on Mobile again at 7:05 CDT. Timothy Adleman will be on the mound with his 1.58 ERA.

Daytona 3, Brevard County 2

Can you imagine rain? The Reds minor leagues has had plenty of it, and it happened in Daytona tonight. It was delayed, but they got it in,, and got the win.

"General" Jackson "Major" Stephens posted 6 innings, 2 earned with 5 strike outs and 2 walks. Alex "The Great" Blandino managed 2-4 with an RBI as did Robert "BobRam" Ramirez. Carlton Daal, Cat Arias, and Joe Hudson managed the other hits, and this seemed like a pretty uneventful game for the Turtles. But they won, so I'm down.
Up Next: Nasty Nick Travieso takes the hill against the Manatees at 6:35 EDT.

Dayton had no runs and they were talking to nobody

Dayton was off, rather than being rained out, and they'll lace them back up tonight against the Clinton Lumberkings when Tyler Mahle takes the mound at 6:30pm CDT.
