Farmers Only: Louisville Has No Starters Left

Well, they do, but the cupboard is almost bare.

Joy R. Absalon-USA TODAY Sports

Louisville was victorious Tuesday night by a score of 4-1.  With the injury hodgepodge that is the Reds, Louisville had to play a game of reliever roulette.  Surprisingly, it worked out really well. Layne Somsen, Joel "Fender" Bender, "Yosemite" Sam LeCure, and Jose De La "Joe" Torre combined for 1 earned run.  Somsen gave up that 1 run, and each guy pitched 2 innings or more.  Jermaine Curtis hit 2 doubles and had a RBI, while Josh Satin "Sheets" was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored.  Axelrod starts at the brink of noon at 11:45 AM EST.  Ham and cheese sammies for all.

Pensacola had the day off and had a ping pong tourney on Bubba's yacht.  The rumor is many good times were had as long as the yelled, "GO DAWGS!"  Over and over.

Daytona lost a close one against Fort Myers with a walk off 5-4 loss.  Amir Garrett didn't have his best stuff (6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 3 K).  Evan Mitchell pitched 1.2 scoreless with 3 K.  El'Hajj Muhammad took the loss, but the 3 runs were not earned because the Tortuga defense let him down.  Uncle Phil Ervin was 2 for 5 with a 2-run ding dong smash.  Robert Ramirez was 3 for 3 with a double, and Carlton Daal was 3 for 4 with a double, RBI, and a run scored.  Sal Romano pitches tonight at 7:05 EST.

Dayton defeated South Bend, 3-1.  Junior Morillo did not strike out a batter but put up a good game (6 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 K).  Jake "Johnson" Paulson pitched two scoreless with 2 K, and Conor "Santa" Krauss threw 1 scoreless inning with 1 K.  Ronald "Muy Muy" Bueno was 2 for 3 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 2 walks.  Fancy.  Garrett "Moleware" Boulware was 2 for 4.  Tejay Antone pitches tonight at 7:05 EST.
