Louisville Bats

The Louisville Bats had a wishy washy kind of weekend, losing 2 out of 3 games to the Durham Bulls.

Friday, the Bats received an ugly start from Dylan "Dadbod" Axelrod (1.2 IP, 6 H, 7 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 HR).  Gross.  Nick "Sister" Christiani was the only pitcher of note, when he threw 2.1 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts. Irving "Death By Snoo Snoo" Falu was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, a RBI, and 2 walks. Yorman "Call Me Up, Man" Rodriguez was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI, and Steve Selsky had a single, 2 RBI, and 2 walks.  In what was a really good night offensively for the Bats, where they collected 13 hits and 7 walks, Jason Bourgeois and Jose "George" Constanza also had multi-hit games.  Somehow, they completed this game in a shade over 3 hours.

Saturday, the Bats were victorious with a 6-8 victory, yes! Keyvius "And Peele" Sampson made his Bats debut and was adequate (6 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K).  The bullpen sucked, and that includes you, Sam LeCure.  Irving "Value" Falu, continued his torrid play at the plate with a 4 for 4 night with a solo dinger and 3 runs scored.  Steve "So" Selsky was 2 for 3 with a double, RBI, and walk; and Ramon Cabrera was 3 for 2 with a 2 run wanger.

Sunday, was more of a normal baseball game but still resulted in a 3-2 loss.  Josh Smith put together a boring start (7 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, and 3 K).  Layne "Dwayne" Somsen and Carlos Contreras both pitched scoreless innings from the bullpen.  Hernan "The Barbarian" Iribarren was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI.

The Bats play at 7:05 tonight with Holmberg on the mound.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos

The Wahoos, if you've been paying attention are not a very good team right now, and they were swept this weekend.

Saturday, the played a double header due to a rain out on Friday.

In Game 1, the Wahoos took a tough 3-2 walk off loss.  Timothy Adleman started and went 5.0 innings, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, and 4 K.  Zach Weiss gave up a solo shot in his 1 inning to lose it.  Ray Chang, Kyle "Balldrop" Walldrop, and Marquez "Old Man" Smith all had a 2 hit game.

In Game 2, the Wahoos lost in walkoff fashion, again, 4-3. "John" Jacob "Jingleheimer" Johnson put up a good start (5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K).  The bullpen was poopy.  Marquez Smith went 2 for 3 with a run scored and a solo dinger.

Sunday, Pensacola lost to Montgomery, 2-5.  Robert Stephenson was not able to keep his string of sterling starts together (4 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 6 BB, 5 K, 2 HR).  Hopefully, it was just a momentary lapse in control. Jimmy "Get A Brain" Moran pitched 2 scoreless innings out of the pen, and Carlos Gonzalez pitched 1. Cam "Bam Thank You Ma'am"  Maron had a 2 for 4 game with a RBI.

Pensacola is playing right meow with Silva on the mound.

Daytona Tortugas

Daytona decided to not be sucky and won 2 out of 3 games this weekend.

Friday, the Tortugas beat Tampa, 3-5.  Sal Romano was wild in his start (5 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, and 4 K). Joe Mantoni, Joel "Shiny Ass" Bender, and El'Hajji Muhammad all had scoreless appearances out of the bullpen.  Sebastian "The Lizard" Elizalde had 2 doubles and a run scored; Taylor Sparks was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI,  a triple, and solo dinger; and Rob "Bob" Ramirez was 2 for 4 with a 2 runs scored, a triple, and a solo funkblast.

Saturday, Daytona took their only loss of the weekend, 8-6.  Barrett Astin had the strikeout pitch working (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, and 9 K).  The bullpen was awful. Sebastian Elizalde was 2 for 5 with homer and 2 RBI. Junior Felix Arias provided a solo shot of his own.  Finally, Robert Ramirez and Carlton "Dancing" Daal was 2 for 4.

Sunday, Dayton sneaked out a 5-4 win.  General Jackson Stephens had a very meh kind of start (6 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, and 2 HR).  Nick Howard pitched a scoreless inning, which is something to celebrate. Phlervin Ervin was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI, and Taylor Sparks was 2 for 4 with 2 runs and a RBI.  Robert Ramirez and Jeff "Peanut Butter" Gelalich both had 2 hit games.

Tavieso is on the mound at 7:05 PM.

Dayton Dragons

Dayton followed their namesake, Daytona, to win 2-3 game this weekend.

Friday, the Dragons lost a storm shortened game, 5-3.  Tejay Antone got the rare 6 inning complete game (6 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, and 4 K). Brian "Beef" O'Grady was 2 for 2 with 2 wangers, 3 RBI, and a walk.  Cool.

Saturday, Dayton was able to shutout Belot, 6-0.  Seth Varner shook off a couple shaky starts with a great performance (7 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K).  Jacob Paulson and Brian Hunter both pitched scoreless innings out of the pen.  Brian O'Grady was 3 for 4 with a double; Joe Ortiz hit a 2 run bomb; Slim Jimmy Pickens was 2 for 4 with a solo shot, and Luis "MVP" Gonzalez was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI.

Sunday's game was closer, but the Dragons were still victorious, 6-4.  Tyler "Poppin'" Mahle was decent (5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, and 5 K0.  Jacob "Skip Skip" Ehret and Brennan "Boesch "Bernardina both had scoreless appearances out of the bullpen.  Paul Kronenfeld, Jimmy Pickens, and Garrett Boulware had multi hit games and some people had RBI's and stuff.

Wyatt Strahan is on the mound at 7:00 pm
