RR Music Series: These Are Taylor Swift's Reds

Today I assign a Taylor Swift song to each active member of the Cincinnati Reds, plus a few bonuses. Why Taylor Swift, you ask? I think it's pretty obvious that Taylor is a Reds fan; she always wears red lipstick and even released an album titled "Red". Read between the lines, people!!! If you guys would like, I think we could make this an off day series. Vote in the poll below. Oh yeah, obviously all images/songs/videos/etc are intellectual property of whoever holds the copyright.

25 Man Active Roster as of today, listed alphabetically:

Burke Badenhop - "Holy Ground" - It's where we hope the ball goes when batters make contact.

Tucker Barnhart - "Electric Barnyard" - Close enough to his name, I'm using it.

Brennan Boesch - "Invisible" - We see him so sparingly, sometimes I forget he's on the roster

Jay Bruce - "Red" - It's a song about reminiscing about good times whilst simultaneously missing those same good times.

Marlon Byrd - "Both Of Us" - Byrd is probably the strongest guy on the team, therefore the most likely to lift everyone up.

Aroldis Chapman - "Sparks Fly" - When Chappy comes into the game, sparks fly. Pretty self explanatory tbqh.

Tony Cingrani - "Beautiful Eyes" - Tony has the prettiest eyes on the team. I won't argue this.

Zack Cozart - "Jump Then Fall" - Zack jumped up in the order and his average promptly fell. :(

Johnny Cueto - "Teardrops On My Guitar" - A song about wanting something so very bad but it being unattainable. Much like Johnny being a Red for life.

Anthony DeSclafani - "Begin Again" - After the trade of Mat Latos, DeSclafani has stepped into that rotation spot so we begin again. Also a really pretty song.

Jumbo Diaz - "White Horse" - "Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, "Come." I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. — Revelation 6:1-2 (NASB)

Todd Frazier - "You Belong With Me" - If there were ever a town that wore t-shirts and was in the bleachers, it's Cincinnati. But we understand Todd and he understands us.

Billy Hamilton - "Fearless" - If I could describe Thrilly's style of play in one word, it would be Fearless.

J.J. Hoover - "The Outside" - Hoover's the hunting guy, right? You do that outside, right? (I couldn't find a video for my original choice of "Clean". Get on it, T-Swizzle.)

Raisel Iglesias - "Change" - He has the best one on the staff and he's gone through an awful lot of it recently.

Mike Leake - "Shake It Off" - People keep doubting him, he keeps shaking them off and doing his thing and putting up numbers.

Michael Lorenzen - "Blank Space" - We had a blank space in the rotation and we wrote his name.

Jason Marquis - "Should've Said No" - That phrase sums up RR's feeling on Biz, doesn't it?

Ryan Mattheus - "A Place In This World" - After some tumultuous times, Mattheus seems to have found a home here.

Kristopher Negron - "Fifteen" - I chose this song because that's about how old he looks.

Manny Parra - "Come In With The Rain" - Who else would come in after a two hour rain delay in the 3rd inning?

Brayan Pena - "Stay Beautiful" - The Great Human Being should always stay beautiful, inside and out.

Brandon Phillips - "Superstar" - If there's anyone on the team that has the superstar aura, it's BP.

Skip Schumaker - "I knew You Were Trouble When You Walked In" - Again, echoing the general RR sentiment.

Joey Votto - "Mine" - "You're the best I ever had". Yep.

Oh why not, let's do a few more!

Kevin Gregg - "We Are Never Getting Back Together" - Self-explanatory imo.

Devin Mesoraco - "Come Back, Be Here" - Please Devin, be okay and come back. Be here.

Homer Bailey - "Picture To Burn" - This was the countriest song I heard and well, Homer's just another pitcher to burn at this point.

Mat Latos - "Bad Blood" - A nice comp for the back and forth between Latos and Reds players this spring after an ugly breakup.

Lastly, for the people in the Reds organization who have to read all the nasty things directed their way from the internet warriors out there:

I can't believe I spent this much time listening to Taylor Swift, but here we are. YOU'RE WELCOME.
