Johnny Cueto v. Francisco Liriano

COMPLETE COVERAGE >

It's Opening Day. It's going to be a beautiful day, no matter how you plan on consuming it. You'll have nice weather if you're part of the record-setting sellout crowd at the ballpark, but even if you don't, I can't think of anything better than finding the nearest group of Reds fans and celebrating today.

This opener will pit the Reds against their divisional foe, the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates will have a similar look this year to last year's very successful team, and we'll see Francisco Liriano take the hill. Liriano ended up with a 4.50 ERA last season in 5 starts against the Reds, so we'll see how vulnerable he is today. The position players all return, with the only new face being catcher Francisco Cervelli.

The Reds debut their new-look lineup in an actual game today, so that's exciting. Joey Votto will hit second, Brandon Philips will hit seventh, and the Reds look to have a solid 1-7 as long as everyone stays healthy.

Please, nobody get hurt today.

Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
