Farmers Only: Wahoo

As in the only team that won.

Pensacola News Journal-USA TODAY Sports

Louisville played the Columbus Clippers and got absolutely whooped on by a score of 11-1.  Dylan Axelrod gave up 4 earned runs in 5.2 innings, giving up 8 hits, a walk, 7 strikeouts, and 2 wangers.  Sam "LeSigh" LeCure appeared in his first game in a few days and promptly gave up 2 runs in 1.1 innings.  He gave up 2 hits, a walk, and a strikeout.  The double agent Chris Carpenter gave up 5 earned in 1 inning and can go sit in a corner and think about what he has done.  Eugenio Suarez, Ivan De Jesus, and Donald Lutz were all 1 for 4 with a double.  Yawn.  Michael Lorenzen will take the mound for his third start of the season tonight.

Pensacola would find themselves as the sole team in the organization on the smiling side of the scoreboard last night, 5-3.  Josh "Boring Name" Smith got the start and went 6 innings giving up 3 earned runs, 6 hits, 2 walks, and striking out 7.  Kyle "Mr. Myme" McMyne, Carlos Gonzalez, and Ben Klimesh all pitched scoreless innings out of the bullpen.  Neither of them walked or struck out a batter, which is super weird.  Uncle Jesse Winker hit his second Winkerbomb(c) of the season in the first inning and contributed with a RBI single later on.  Chris "Berserk" Berset hit 3 doubles and drove in a run.  Wandy Peralta will get the start tonight.

Daytona couldn't scrape up enough offense either, but at least their pitching held up better than Louisville's in a 4-1 losing effort.  Amir Garrett took the mound and the loss for the Tortugas, but he looked mighty fine doing it.  Garrett pitched 6 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits, 0 walks, and 7 strikeouts.  Nolan Becker had a sloppy 2 innings out of the pen with 2 earned runs, 2 walks, and 1 strikeout.  If there is one bright spot to take away from the game it is Phillip Ervin hitting his 4th homerun on the year and walking twice.  Thank you, sir!  May I have another?.  Nick Howard will try and keep his perfect 0.00 ERA tonight against Tampa.

Dayton followed suit with Daytona by losing to Bowling Green by a similar score of 3-1.  Tejay Antone started the game and went 5 innings, giving up 3 runs with 6 hits, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts.  Jeremy Kivel pitched a scoreless frame with 2 walks and a K to get his ERA down Greggian levels, and Santa Krauss pitched 2 scoreless with 2 strikeouts.  Jimmy "Slim" Pickens and Narciso Crook both had multi-hit games, but this game pretty much sucked offensively.  Ty Washington did pick up the lone run on a RBI double.

Hope you jerks are ready for the Weezkend!
