Great American Ballpark

Alfredo Simon v. Bartolo Colon

COMPLETE COVERAGE >

New lineup, but the same 2014 Reds.

Regulars back in today to face the Mets after a 1-5 road trip. It's not super encouraging to see games like last night, where some really good things happened only for the team to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory at the last minute.

Alfredo Simon is going for the Reds tonight, and it makes me wonder if we're not close to seeing him shut down for the rest of the year. Price has made it pretty clear that the Reds are calling it a season and letting guys play, and by the end of this start, he could be sitting at twice the amount of innings he threw last year. Then again, who else would you put in the rotation?

Bartolo Colon is the ageless wonder, and is still in the league for whatever reason. He's been pretty serviceable for the Mets this year, actually, but got roughed up against the Phillies in his last time out.

Go Reds!
