This is our last weekend harvest of the season, and we only have one more Farmers Only report coming tomorrow. It's like really sad and stuff. Just a quick disclaimer. This Weekend Harvest was hastily created. There are no funnies. I apologize.
Louisville
Friday, the Bats dropped a game to the Toledo Mud Hens 9-4. Jon Moscot got the start, and was roughed up (5 IP, 7 H, 7 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, and 1 HR). Chad Rogers pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief. Jason Bourgeois had 2 doubles and a run scored, and Jake Elmore had 2 singles, a double, and a run scored. The game on Saturday was banged on account of rain falling from the sky. The game was cancelled and won't be made up. Sunday was Corky Miller Night, and the Bats did not honor Miller with a victory. Daniel CorciNO wasn't on his top game (5 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 6 K, and 3 HR). Gross. The Bats collected a total of six hits. Hopefully, some of you yahoos have some good stories from the game. Josh Smith starts tonight.
Pensacola
Friday, the Wahoos lost to the Birmingham Barons 1-0. Timothy Adleman pitched well (7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K). Drew Hayes pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Yorman Rodriguez had a single and a walk, and Kyle Waldrop had 2 hits, including a double. Pensacola pulled up short on Saturday as well, losing to the Barons 6-3. Ben Lively got the start and went 5 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 HR. Jamie Walczak pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief with 5 strikeouts. Yorman had 2 walks and scored 2 runs. Juan Silvero was 2 for 4 with a triple. Sunday, Pensacola rode a strong start by Robert Stephenson to a 2-1 victory. Bob Steve went 7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 9 K. Ben Klimesh and Shane Dyer had scoreless appearances. Klimesh struck out the side. Kyle Waldrop had a solo ding dong, and Devin Lohman was 2 for 4. Michael Lorenzen will finish the season for the Wahoos tonight.
Bakersfield
Friday, Bakersfield lost an offensive duel to Visalia 9-8. The loss wasn't because of poor pitching, but shitty defense. The Blaze committed 4 errors. Wandy Peralta got the start and went 2.2 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, and 2 K) Ryan Kemp and Jake Johnson had scoreless appearances. Joe Hudson hit 2 homeruns and 3 RBI, and Maruqez Smith had a solo shot. Sebastian Elizalde hit 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Zach Vincej and Marquez Smith had 2 hit games. Saturday, the Blaze got dirt stomped, losing 13-3. Ismael Guillon got the start and was awful. So was everyone else. Guillon went 2 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 HR. Marquez Smith hit his 28th home run of the year, and Sebastian Elizalde hit a 2 run shot. Sammy Diaz had 3 hits, and Juan Perez had 2. Sunday, Mike Dennhardt put in one of his best games of the season. He gave up 4 runs, but only 2 were earned in 7 innings. He struck out 7 and walked 0. Sean Lucas pitched 2 scoreless innings. Harold Riggins hit a solo home run, and hit a single in 4 at bats. Beau Amaral, Junior Arias, Zach Vincej, and Brent Peterson all had multi hit games. Daniel Wright will pitch tonight to end the season.
Dayton
The Dragons had themselves a tough weekend, and it started on Friday with a 8-1 loss. Sal Romano gave up 6 runs, 4 earned, in 5 innings pitched. He struck out 3 and walked 2. Joel Bender and Austin Muehring had scoreless appearances. The offense was 2 hit. Saturday, Dayton broke out the bats with an 11-1 victory. Nick Travieso was very good in his last start of the season (6 IP, 1 H,1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K). Nolan Becker, Evan Mitchell, and Alejandro Chacin combined for 3 innings or scoreless relief. There was a lot of offensive in this one. Phil Ervin, Robert Ramirez, and Nick Benedetto all hit homeruns. Dayton banged out 16 hits total. Sunday, the Dragons lost 12-0, and Jackson Stephens pitched. That is all. Nick Howard pitches tonight.
Billings
Billings actually still has 4 games to go, so we'll have them around a bit longer. Friday night, Billings beat Missoula 13-11. Brennan Bernardino pitched 1.1 innings to pick up the save. I'm not talking about the rest of the pitching. Billings hit 6 home runs (Brian O'Grady, Argenis Aldazoro (2), Taylor Sparks, Gavin LaValley, and Cory Thompson). I didn't realize that LaValley got called up. Sweet. Saturday, the Mustangs won again 10-6. Tejay Antone was solid (5 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HR). Jefry Sierra and Jordan Remer had scoreless appearances. Aristides Aquino hit his 16th and 17th home runs this season. He had 4 RBI on the day. Ty Washington contributed with a solo shot and 4 hits. On Sunday, Billings dropped the game 2-1. They gave up the 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth. The only run scored for the Mustangs was a leadoff solo shot from Josciel Veras. Wyatt Strahan, Seth Verner, and Fabian Roman combined for 8 innings of scoreless ball. Tyler Mahle pitches tonight.
