Cueto had an off-night, which is simply going to happen once or twice a season. JJ Hoover got in an inning of redemption, which was nice to see. Carlos Contreras came further down to eAArth. The Reds mounted a comeback in the ninth, though it looked to be mostly the result of the Cardinals' rain delay nap loopiness.
If Cueto's Cy Young campaign is ebbing, the list of things to look forward to over the rest of the season is getting mighty short. Here are a few:
- More Reds baseball
- A possibly ill-conceived Joey Votto return
- A trade of some kind
- Calling up an exciting prospect garnered by that trade
