Mat Latos v. Joe Kelly

COMPLETE COVERAGE >

The Reds are back in action for another one of those goofy 2-game series, this time against the big name Boston Red Sox. These aren't your baby brother's Red Sox, though. This Red Sox team was one who ended up selling at the deadline, and put themselves in a better position for 2015 in the process by picking up guys like Yoenis Cespedes and tonight's starter Joe Kelly.

Speaking of Kelly, you may remember him when he pitched for the stupid Cardinals. He's 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA in 3 starts against the Reds in his career, which shouldn't really shock anybody since Cardinals tend to overperform against us anyway. He made his first Red Sox start against his old team, and held them to 1 run over 7 innings of work. Pretty solid.

Mat Latos gets the ball for the Redlegs, who has quietly put together 3 quality starts in a row. He's on a nice little run here, so let's hope he can keep it going.

Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
