Farmer's Only: Dan Wright Comes and We Wanta Go Home

New entrant in the best name of the system rankings.

@Sweden

Mikey O "Yeah Yeahs" Brien pitched 6 solid innings, giving up 5H, 1ER, 1BB to go with 4K as the Bats beat the Mud Hens in a PETA-cited 4-3 win. Jason "Petite" Bourgeois went 2-4 and Hernan "You barrin'?" Ibarren went 2-3, as the Bats weirdly neither walked nor struck out all game. The Bats actually have a pretty decent lineup, all things considered. This was a boring game.

Tomorrow, look out Below! as Duane Below and the Mud Hens face Pedro Villareal (who I mostly forgot about) at Ladies Night in Louisville's Slugger Field at 7:05 p.m. ET.

Blake Lively said "To Blave," not "True Love" on Tuesday, giving up 5H, 4ER, and 3BB in 4.1 IP. His 7 strikeouts were nice, but the rest of the line...isn't. I really hope he's not finding his talent ceiling at AA. Anyways, the 'Hoos lost 3-7 at the Mobile BayBears, who Holmberg used to pitch for. Unfortunately, he's no longer there.

Scott Maine, for what it's worth, tossed a perfect inning with two strikeouts and was the only Pensacola pitcher to not be awful. Kyle "Let the Beat" Waldrop went 2-3 with a double and a walk, Crash Mejias-Brean went 1-3 with a walk, and Jesse "Little Franchise" Winker had a couple of walks to boost his 0-2 night. Did you know that Lou Marson was catching for this team? Me neither.

The Blue Wahoos are having a Blue Tuesday, and are off tomorrow.

In a game attended by yours truly and the Baseballing Jones, the Bakersfield Blaze lost soundly to the San Jose Giants by a score of 5-2. Daniel Wright was wrong, giving up 5ER on 6H in 5.1IP. El'Hajj Muhammad -- who does not remember me even though his old profile pic was a picture I took and put on this site -- pitched the ninth with a walk and a strikeout.

Brent Peterson played well, going 2-3 with a walk and a double. Jeff "Peanut Butter" Gelalich had a dinger and a couple of nifty plays. We'll have a more in-depth writeup in a bit.

Henry Riggins, who the Reds got for Jair Jurrjens, has a middle name of "Bellefonte." He didn't play well, but he can go 0-5 every damn night with a middle name of Bellefonte. Call him up for Louisville's Ladies' Night!

Ismail Guillion will take on Pat Young, which is a name and not a way to get arrested, at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday. The coolest kids you know will not be in attendance that time around.

Krampus came (out) early in a 5-4 Dayton loss. Nick Travieso only lasted 4 innings, giving up 10H, 4ER, 1BB to go with 5K. Rowdy Radhames Quezada had two strikeouts in 2.2IP, though, and Jack Hannahan went 1-3 with a double in his rehab assignment. Joe "Ho Ho and a bottle of rum" Hudson went 1-3 with a homer and a walk, Jam-Mack went 1-3 with a walk from the leadoff spot, and Gabriel "Sub" Rosa went 1-3 with a double.

Jackson "Why yes, I am from Oxford, AL. How could you tell?" Stephens will host the South Bend Silver Hawks and Hector Hernandez at 7:00 p.m. ET at Dayton's 5th/3rd Field tomorrow.

Can you break a pane of glass with a baseball? Then you can pitch for the Billings Mustangs, since you'll do better than any of their throwers did in a 10-6 loss to the Chukars of Idaho Falls.

Let's focus on the good things. Alex "The Great" Blandino went 2-5 with a triple, Brian "Cox" O'Grady went 1-4 with a double and a walk, Aristides "Fornicating" Aquino "Excrement" went 2-5 with a double, Taylor "Platinum" Sparks went 1-4 with a walk, Jimmy Pickens hit a home run and is named Jimmy Pickens, and Jose Duarte went 2-4 to build his [SSS] Billings career to a solid .715/.750/.857. Call me crazy, but if he can keep that up from the catcher's spot the Reds could be on to something.

Jeremy "Actually, not very Evil" Kivel will host Mike "Mile o'" Jeffreys [but probably not, considering he started on Tuesday] and the Idaho Falls Chukars at 9:05 ET tomorrow night.

"Soy Capitan! Soy Capitan!" Chadwick Tromp yelled, as he demolished Los Marineros Pequenos by a 8-6 score. Tromp Stomped his way to a 3-4 night with a double. Dalton "Film Noir character" Carter went 2-3 with a walk at the bottom of the order, and Jose "areu" Siri "ous" went 2-5 with a triple on the top of it. Connor "Sour" Krauss pitched a solid ninth with a walk and three strikeouts. He's struck out 11 of the 25 batters he's faced.

Who the heck knows what the AZLiens will do tomorrow, since I can't find anything on their website. Go to Goodyear, ye seeker, and find what ye shall.
