This pitching matchup is one of current aces for their pitching staffs, and former 4th starters for the Reds. It's the first of a doubleheader today, which is a make-up from a rainout in April. We're planning on two threads and two previews to keep things moving along, so keep an eye out for that.
Big news of the day so far is that we won't have Joey Votto for this series (or any series anytime soon). We roll on with Frazier manning 1B for the first game, and we'll see on the second.
Johnny Cueto gets the start for Cincinnati fresh off of making the All-Star team. This'll be the first time he's faced the Cubs this year.
Travis Wood starts for Chicago, coming off of a few bad starts in a row. He's now the ace of the Cubs' staff without Samardzija there.
Weather may be a factor in this game (or the later game) today.
Go Reds!
