Louisville saw a 7th inning lead disappear, and lost to the IronPigs 8-4. Josh Smith had a perfectly cromulent 7-inning outing, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Unfortunately, the Justin Freeman. The man with the mustache had a terrible, no good, very bad inning, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits in the 8th. Donald Lutz and Ruben Gotay "It On The Mountain" both went 2-4 with a dinger, but I don't think either of them can play second base. Up Next: Brett Marshall, who was DFA'd yesterday, is scheduled to take the hill against LeHigh Valley at 7:05 ET.
Pensacola buttered the Biscuits and won 4-2. Daniel Corcino turned in a rare solid start, tossing 7 innings of 1-run, 6 K ball, while allowing 8 hits and a walk. The lack of walks is nice to see, and hopefully something he can build on in his next start. Josh Fellhauer smacked a triple in the 5th inning on a 2-4 night, which was about the only offensive effort worth noting. Up Next: Jon Moscot (4-8, 3.19 ERA) faces off against Montgomery at 7:30 ET.
Bakersfield struggled against San Jose, falling 6-2 to the Giants. Zach "I'm So" Vincej went 2-3 with a walk, an RBI and a TOOTBLAN. The rest of the team turned in a bunch of 0-fers and 1-fers. Drew Cisco got smacked around for 12 hits and 5 runs and got pulled after 4.2 innings. Up Next: Wandy Peralta (6-6, 4.61 ERA) gets the start as the Blaze head to Modesto to face the Nuts at 10:05 ET.
Dayton lost 7-1, but treated their home crowd to a memorable evening by being no-hit by Blayne Weller of the South Bend SilverHawks. Weller, who was playing Indy League ball as recently as last year, threw 125 pitches, and struck out 12 batters while walking 2. Phil Ervin went 0-2 with a walk and scored the Dragons' only run on a throwing error. Amir Garrett gave up a pair of runs in 5 innings while racking up 6 Ks, but struggled with his command, walking 5 batters. Up Next: Sal Romano (5-8, 4.16 ERA) hosts the West Michigan Whitecaps at 7:00 ET.
Billings lost a 3-1 snoozer, getting 2-hit by the Chukars at home. Brian "Beef" O'Grady (1-4, 2B) had the only XBH for the Mustangs, and Taylor "Bubba" Sparks had the only other hit. Luke Moran had a yawn inducing 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K line. Up Next: Tejay Antone (0-1, 10.12 ERA) toes the rubber against Idaho Falls at 10:05.
The AZL Reds partied like it was 1990 and beat the ever-loving pants off of the A's 17-8. Reydel "The Radiant City" Medina went 4-5, hit for the cycle, and drove in 7 freaking runs. That's better than jam, that's marmalade. Gavin "Peaceful" LaValley went 3-4 with his third professional wanger and 3 RBI. Johnathan "Damn, Gina!" Martjin drove in 3 as well, going 3-5 with a pair of doubles and a triple. The pitching wasn't great, but who cares? 17 runs! Woo! Up Next: More A's action at 10 ET.
